Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանին մարտի 23-ին իր հավատարմագրերն է հանձնել Հայաստանում Իսրայելի նորանշանակ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Էլիյահու Յերուշալմին (նստավայրը՝ Երուսաղեմ): 

Ինչպես  տեղեկանում ենք ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության եւ տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, Նախագահը շնորհավորել է դեսպանին և ընդգծել, որ Հայաստանի իշխանությունները պատրաստ են սատարելու դեսպանի ջանքերը հայ-իսրայելական կապերի ամրապնդման ու զարգացման գործում: Սերժ Սարգսյանը նշել է, որ երկու ժողովուրդների դարավոր պատմական առնչությունները պարտավորեցնում են ակտիվացնել և նոր որակ հաղորդել միջպետական հարաբերություններին: Նախագահը կարևորել է վերջին շրջանում միջխորհրդարանական և հանրային հարաբերություններում նկատելի որոշակի աշխուժությունը:

Դեսպան Էլիյահու Յերուշալմին նշել է, որ իր երկրի կառավարության ուղերձը, որով ժամանել է Հայաստան, այն է, որ Իսրայելը ցանկանում է Հայաստանի հետ ունենալ բաց ու զարգացած հարաբերություններ, և որպես դեսպան՝ կգործադրի ամեն ջանք այդ ուղերձը հնարավորինս արագ իրականացնելու համար: Ընդգծելով, որ Իսրայելում խորը ակնածանքով են վերաբերվում հայ ժողովրդին՝ Էլիյահու Յերուշալմին իր համար մեծ պատիվ է համարել ծառայել երկու հինավուրց ժողովուրդների բարեկամության ամրապնդմանն ու միջպետական հարաբերությունների զարգացմանը:
Հանդիպմանն անդրադարձ է եղել տա րբեր ոլորտներում հայ-իսրայելական փոխգործակցության ընդլայնման հնարավորություններին ու հեռանկարին:
