When Mary Glasure had to undergo her first chemo treatment this month for her recent breast cancer diagnosis, she "needed [her] spirits boosted," she told TODAY.com, which is exactly what happened when her son Corey Hoffmaster, a U.S. Marine, surprised her.
In the video above, you hear Hoffmaster, dressed fully in scrubs and a surgical mask, tell Glasure "I have a lunch appointment I need to get to so let's hurry up" with the chemo. She's taken aback at first, but when she realizes it's her son she freaks. "I haven't seen you for almost two years," she exclaims while crying.
TODAY.com reports the cancer spread to Glasure's lung and spine and that she'd recently been asking to see her son so she could tell him about the diagnosis in person: "I needed him home because he's my strength. Being in the Marines, he's the matter-of-fact, you've-got-to-do-this type."
Watch the video above. Weep. Call your mother and tell her you love her. Be kind to everyone you know and all that good stuff. It's important.
