Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, FIFPro (Եվրոպայի ֆուտբոլի երկրպագուներ) եւ Transparency International միջազգային իրավապաշտպան կազմակերպությունների կողմից վերջերս ստեղծված «Սպորտի եւ իրավունքների պաշտպանության ալյանս» կոալիցիան հայտարարել է, որ եթե Եվրոպայի ազգային օլիմպիական կոմիտեները Ադրբեջանի կառավարությանը կոչ չանեն ազատ արձակել բոլոր քաղաքական բանտարկյալներին, մարդու իրավունքների խախտումներն այդ երկրում մեծ վնաս կհասցնեն Բաքվում անցկացվելիք Եվրոխաղերին:

Միջազգային իրավապաշտպան կազմակերպությունների կողմից ապրիլի 7-ին տարածված հայտարարության մեջ ասվում է, որ կոալիցիան ձգտում է այն բանին, որպեսզի մեծ սպորտային միջոցառումներ ընդունող երկրները հարգեն մարդու իրավունքները, պահպանեն շրջակա միջավայրը եւ պայքարեն սպորտում կոռուպցիայի դեմ:

«Եվրոպական օլիմպիական կոմիտեն Ադրբեջանի նախագահի առաջ այդ խնդիրները բարձրացնելու բացառիկ հնարավորություն ունի», -ասել է Amnesty International կազմակերպության ներկայացուցիչ Էդուարդ Նազարսկին:

Եվրոպական օլիմպիական կոմիտեի նախագահ Պատրիկ Հիքին հղած նամակում կոալիցիան կոչ է արել դատապարտել Ադրբեջանում կառավարության քննադատների դեմ բռնաճնշումները:

Ադրբեջանը հունիսի 18-28-ին անցկացվելիք եվրոպական խաղերին Օլիմպիական շարժման անվան տակ 50 երկրներից հրավիրել է 6000 մարզիկների:

Ուղերձում ասվում է, որ առաջատար լրագրողների եւ իրավապաշտպանների ձերբակալություններն ու ԶԼՄ-ների, իրավապաշտպան խմբերի եւ այլ ակտվիստների դեմ մշտական ճնշումները չեն համապատասխանում Օլիմպիական խարտիայի սկզբունքներին: Նման իրավիճակը կարող է բացասական ազդեցություն ունենալ Բաքվում խաղերը լուսաբանող հազարավոր լրագրողների վրա:

Այդ պատճառով «Սպորտի եւ իրավունքների պաշտպանության ալյանս» կոալիցիան Եվրոպայի օլիմպիական կոմիտեներին կոչ է արել պաշտոնական Բաքվից պահանջել մինչեւ հունիսի 12-ը անհապաղ եւ առանց որեւէ նախապայմանի ազատ արձակել բանտարկված բոլոր լրագրողներին եւ իրավապաշտպաններին, այդ թվում` Խադիջա Իսմայիլովային, Լեյլա եւ Արիֆ Յունուս ամուսիններին, Ինթիգամ Ալիեւին, Ռասուլ Ջաֆարովին, Ռաուֆ Միրկադիրովին, Անար Մամեդլիին, Իլգար Մամեդովին եւ Թոֆիկ Յագուբլուին: Դադարեցնել արտահայտվելու, հավաքվելու եւ միավորվելու ազատություններ իրագործելու համար ակտի վիստների, լրագրողների, ընդդիմադիրների եւ այլ անձանց ճնշելու, ահաբեկելու եւ հետապնդելու գործողությունները, որոնք սահմանափակում են ԶԼՄ-ների, իրավապաշտպան կազմակերպությունների եւ այլ անկախ խմբերի աշխատանքը:

Միջազգային կազմակերպությունների տվյալներով` Ադրբեջանում մոտ 100 քաղաքական եւ խղճի բանտարկյալներ կան:
