«Հրապարակ» օրաթերթը գրում է. «Թվում է՝ ի՞նչ մի շոշափելի բան է տալիս հայ ժողովրդին եւ Հայաստան պետությանը Վատիկանի Սուրբ Պետրոսի տաճարում մատուցված պատարագը կամ հերթական երկրի կողմից Ցեղասպանության ճանաչման հերթական ակտը: Կամ՝ ի՞նչ ենք ստանալու մենք այն փաստից, որ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման ապրիլի 24-ին 1915 թվականին կատարվածը վերջապես որակի «Ցեղասպանություն»:

Գործնական առումով՝ երկրի տնտեսության, ժողովրդի բարեկեցության, մեր պետության կայացման առումով՝ ոչինչ: Բայց ամբողջ բանն այն է, որ մեր կյանքը միայն նյութական բարիքներից եւ շոշափվող իրողություններից չի կազմված, եւ հոգեւոր բավարարում ասվածը, որպես կանոն, պայմանավորված է բոլորովին այլ իրողություններով: Մի սեւամորթ երգչի խելահեղ ու ինքնամոռաց համերգով: Հայաստանից հեռու ապրած, արմատներով հայ, բայց հայկականությունից անչափ հեռու քույրերի Ծիծեռնակաբերդում ապրած հուզմունքով: Հռոմի պապի մեղմ ու զուսպ գնահատականներով, Կաթոլիկ եկեղեցու՝ մեր Գրիգոր Նարեկացուն մեծարելու անօրինակ քայլով: Գրող Ռազմիկ Դավոյանը, ով ներկա է գտնվել պատարագին, երեկ մեր թղթակցի հետ զրույցում այն բնորոշել է «գրանդիոզ» բառով եւ ասել է. «Այն ալիքը, որ բարձրացրել է Վատիկանն ամբողջ աշխարհով մեկ, իսկ Վատիկանը միայն կրոնական կազմակերպություն չէ… անհանգչելի ալիք է, անընդհատ ծավալվելու է», եւ այն, ինչ տեղի ունեցավ Վատիկանում, կտա իր արդյունքը: Որպես արդյունք, պարոն Դավոյանը նշում է այն, որ Թուրքիան հետ է կանչել Վատիկանից իր դեսպանին:

«Մյուս երկրներից էլ է կանչելու»,- կանխատեսում է նա: Սակայն խնդիրը դեսպանը չէ եւ ոչ էլ Թուրքիայի «քիթը տրորելը», քանզի այս գեղեցիկ արարողությունն ու 100-ամյակի միջոցառումներն «ընդդեմ Թուրքիայի» վրեժի դրոշի ներքո առաջ մղելը չէ մեր նպատակը»:
