21-ամյա պարուհի Քլոե Քնեպտոնը բնակվում է Հոլմֆիրթում։ Այս գեղեցիկ աղջկա կյանքում ամեն ինչ կարգին էր, սակայն անցյալ շաբաթ նրա հետ մի սարսափելի պատահար տեղի ունեցավ, ինչից հետո նա անգամ ժպտալ չի կարողանում։ Աղջիկն իր մեքենայով տուն էր վերադառնում։ Նրա ընկերուհին շարժվում էր նույն ուղղությամբ, սակայն մեկ այլ ավտոմեքենայով։ Հանկարծ աղջիկները նկատեցին, որ ճանապարհի մեջտեղում մի հեծանիվ է ընկած։

Քնեպտոնի ընկերուհին դուրս եկավ ավտոմեքենայից հեծանիվը ճանապարհից հեռացնելու համար։ Հենց այդ պահին մի մարդ՝ ձեռքին ապակե շիշ, սուրաց այդ աղջկան ընդառաջ ու հարձակվեց խեղճի վրա ու հարվածեց նրան։

Ապա խուլիգանը վազեց Քնեպտոնի մեքենայի ուղղությամբ ու ձեռքի ապակե շիշն այնպիսի ուժգնությամբ խփեց մեքենայի պատուհանին, որ ապակին փշուր-փշուր եղավ աղջկա դեմքին ու պարանոցին։ Ապակու բեկորները խրվեցին աղջկա մաշկի մեջ՝ սոսկալի ցավ ու վնասվածքներ առաջացնելով դեմքի, պարանոցի ու ուսերի հատվածում։ Քնեպտոնը կարողացավ մեքենայով խույս տալ ավազակից ու հասնել մոտակայքում բնակվող ընկերուհու տուն, որտեղից էլ նրան տեղափոխեցին հիվանդանոց, որտեղ վիրահատության ենթարկվեց։ Նրա շրթունքների երկու կողմից կարեր դրվեցին, ու աղջիկն ստիպված եղավ 3 օր անցկացնել հիվանդանոցում։

Քնեպտոնի մայր տիկին Էլիսոնը նշել է, որ կարերի պատճառով իր դուստրը չի կարողանում ժպտալ և ուտել, ուստի ստիպված է լինում սնվել հեղուկներով։ Նրա պարանոցի հատվածում ի թիվս բազում կտրվածքների՝ 7.5 սանտիմետրանոց վնասվածք կար։ Հարձակման հետևանքով աղջկա ատամներից մեկը ևս կոտրվեց։ Ամենավատն այն է, որ շտապօգնությունը տվյալ դեպքում այնքան էլ շտապ չէր. շտապօգնության մեքենան ժամանեց մեկ ժամ 15 րոպե անց։ Նախքան մեքենան կժամաներ, հատակն ամբողջովին պատված էր արյամբ։

Աղջիկը դուրս է գրվել հիվանդանոցից ու արդեն տանն է, սակայն նրա համար շատ դժվար է վարել իր բնականոն կենսակերպը։ Ինչպես նշել էինք սկզբում, Քնեպտոնը պարուհի է ու իր սեփական պարի դպրոցն ունի։ Պարի ժամանակ վառ դիմախաղը ոչ պակաս կարևոր է, քան մարմնի ճկունությունը։ Լավ է գոնե, որ իրավապահ մարմինների ջանքերով հանցագործը հայտնաբերվել է։ Դեռևս պարզ չէ, թե ինչ դատավճիռ կկայացվի 37-ամյա Էնդրյու Շրայնի նկատմամբ, քանի որ դատավարությունը դեռ ընթացքի մեջ է։ Հանցագործության դրդապատճառները ևս չեն հրապարակվել։
