Ապրիլի 23-ին Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում տեղի ունեցավ Արեւելյան Ուղղափառ Եկեղեցիների Հովվապետերի` Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք եւ Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսի, Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Արամ Ա Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո Կաթողիկոսի, Ալեքսանդրիայի Պապ եւ Համայն Աֆրիկայի Պատրիարք Նորին Սրբություն Թավադրոս Բ-ի, Ասորի Ուղղափառ Եկեղեցու և Համայն Արեւելքի Պատրիարք Նորին Սրբություն Մորան Մոր Եփրեմ Բ-ի եւ Մալանկարա Ուղղափառ Եկեղեցու պետ եւ Մալանկարայի Մետրոպոլիտ Նորին Սրբություն Բասելիոս Մար Թոմա Պաուլոս Բ-ի հանդիպումը:

Սրբադասման արարողությանը ներկա էին հազարավոր հավատացյալներ, որոնք աղոթք բարձրացրեցին առ Աստված` 1915 թվականի զոհերի հիշատակի եւ հոգու հանգստության համար: Պատարագին ներկա էին ՀՀ նախագահը, ՀՀ կառավարության մի շարք անդամներ, ԱԺ պատգամավորներ, հյուրեր արտերկրից եւ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հանրապետությունից:

Orer.am-ը, զրուցելով հավաքվածներից մի քանիսի հետ, եւս մեկ անգամ համոզվեց` չնայած նրան, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունից անցել է ուղիղ մեկ դար, այնուամենայնիվ, աշխարհի տարբեր ծայրերում եւ Հայաստանում գտնվող հայերը պահանջատեր են:

«Ես սիրում եմ իմ պապերի Հայաստանը, մեր Արեւմտյան Հայաստանը: Այսօր իմ երեքամյա թոռնուհու` Շաքեի հետ, եկել եմ Էջմիածին, որ մասնակցեմ սրբադասման արարողությանը: Մարդիկ, որոնց սպանել են ամենադաժան ձեւերով, պետք է պարտադիր կերպով դասվեն սրբերի շարքին: Թուրքը պետք է պատասխան տա, թուրք երիտասարդները պետք է իմանան ճշմարտությունը, նրանք պետք է ընդունեն, որ իրենց նախնիները անհոգի մարդասպաններ են»,-մեզ հետ զրույցի ժամանակ ասաց ռուսաստանաբնակ 63-ամյա Անի Հախումյանը:

23-ամյա Վարդան Սահակյանն էլ, ով եկել էր Ֆրանսիայից, նշեց. « Դեռ մանկուց ինձ պատմել են, թե ինչպես են կոտորել մեր ժողովրդին՝ իմ նախնիներին: Գտնում եմ, որ 1915 թվականին տեղի ունեցածը պետք է բնորոշվի որպես ցեղասպանություն, եւ այն երկրները, որոնք դեռ չեն ընդունել այդ փաստը, փաստորեն, դեռ մաքուր չեն սեփական խղճի առջև: Հասկանում եմ, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունն ընդունելն այդքան էլ հեշտ բան չէ. այն մեծ քաղաքականություն է, այստեղ կան շահերի խոշոր բախումներ, սակայն կարծում եմ՝ վաղ թե ուշ մենք կհասնենք մեր ուզածին: Պետք է ասեմ, որ ապրիլի 23-ին Ֆրանսիայում եւս հարգանքի տուրք է մատուցվել, իսկ ապրիլի 24-ին կանջատվեն Էյֆելյան աշտարակի լույսերը»:
