ՀՀ ԱԺ նախագահ Գալուստ Սահակյանը շնորհավորական ուղերձ է հղել Մամուլի ազատության օրվա առթիվ: Ինչպես  տեղեկացրին ՀՀ ԱԺ հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, ԱԺ նախագահի ուղերձում ասվում է.

«Լրատվամիջոցների հարգելի ներկայացուցիչներ, շնորհավորում եմ Մամուլի ազատության համաշխարհային օրվա առթիվ:

Խոսքի ազատության եւ լրատվամիջոցների գործունեության համար արժանապատիվ պայմաններ ստեղծելը նույնքան մեծ պատասխանատվություն է, որքան այդ ազատությունից օգտվելը եւ այն ի շահ հասարակության գործածելը: Սա նշանակում է թշնամանքի եւ անհանդուրժողականության բացառում եւ գործընկերային փոխհարաբերություններ պետության, հասարակության ու ԶԼՄ-ների միջեւ՝ անկախ վերջիններիս ունեցած քաղաքական դիրքորոշումից, ուղղվածությունից եւ այն գաղափարախոսությունից ու գործելակերպից, որ բնորոշ է որեւէ լրատվամիջոցի: Այդ փոխհարաբերությունների հիմքը նույն հասարակության շահն է, որը գերակա է եւ խոսքի ազատությունը երաշխավորող իշխանության, եւ այդ ազատությունը գործնականում կրող ու իրացնող ԶԼՄ-ների համար: Լրատվամիջոցների այն բազմազանությունը, որ առկա է մեզանում, եւ նրանց անխոչընդոտ գործունեությունը փաստում են այդ շահի ըմբռնման ու գիտակցման մասին:

Քաղաքացիական հասարակության կայացումը մեր երկրում չընդհատվող գործընթաց է: Պետությունն անհրաժեշտ իրավական եւ քաղաքական աջակցություն է ցուցաբերում այդ գործընթացին՝ ապահովելով այնպիսի մթնոլորտ եւ գործունեության պայմաններ, որոնց առկայությամբ հայաստանյան մամուլը կարողանում է լիարժեքորեն տիրապետել խոսքի ազատությանը եւ հնարավորինս օպերատիվ ու օբյեկտիվ արձագանքել հասարակության խնդիրներին, հրապարակայնացնել նրա հարցադրումները եւ պահանջները:

Խոսքի ազատությունը պատասխանատվության հետ մեկտեղ պահանջում է նաեւ այն չարաշահելուց ձեռնպահ մնալու, ճշմարտության դեմ չմեղանչելու, պատեհապաշտությամբ եւ ամբոխահաճությամբ չգայթակղվելու խիզախություն: Վստահ եմ, որ մեր ԶԼՄ-ները կշարունակեն արժանապատվորեն գնահատել խոսքի ազատության սահմաններն ու հնարավորությունները՝ իրենց գործունեության ընթացքում առաջնորդվելով ճշմարտության առաջնայնությամբ եւ համամարդկային արժեքներով:
