Հայաստանի և Միացյալ Նահանգների միջև Առևտրի և ներդրումների շրջանակային նոր համաձայնագիրը կարևոր հիմք կլինի երկու երկրների միջև ներդրումների և առևտրի խթանմանն ուղղված ավելի շատ հնարավորությունների և հարմար պայմանների ստեղծման համար: Այս մասին ԱՄՆ մամուլի ազգային ակումբում հրավիրված ասուլիսին նշել է ՀՀ ԱԳ նախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանը: «Այս նպատակով մենք պատրաստվում ենք ձևավորել հայ-ամերիկյան հատուկ խորհուրդˋ քննարկելու հնարավորությունները, ինչպես նաև տնտեսական ոլորտում նոր համաձայնագրի հավանականությունը: Խորհուրդը տարին առնվազն մեկ անգամ հանդիպում է հրավիրելու Երևանում և Վաշինգտոնում, և երկու պատվիրակություններ են ղեկավարվելու ՀՀ էկոնոմիկայի նախարարության և ԱՄՆ-ի առևտրի ներկայացուցչության կողմից: Մեր կարծիքովˋ սա կարևոր քայլ է»,- ընդգծել է նախարարը:

Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել պետքարտուղար Ջոն Քերիին. «Երկու տարի առաջ Վաշինգտոնում կայացած հանդիպման ընթացքում մենք բարձրացրեցինք այս հարցը և երկու տարվա մեջ այն իրականություն է դառնում: Մենք նաև պայմանավորվել էինք վիզաների ռեժիմի դյուրացման հարցի շուրջ, որն արդեն իրականության է այս տարվա սկզբից սկսած: Ուստի, մենք անհամբերությամբ սպասում ենք ԱՄՆ-ի հետ մեր համագործակցության և գործընկերության մակարդակի բարձրացմանը և խորացմանը»:

ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի գլխավորած պատվիրակության կազմում Վաշինգտոնում գտնվող արտաքին գործերի նախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանը և ԱՄՆ առևտրի ներկայացուցչի տեղակալ Դեն Մուլանին՝ ՀՀ Նախագահի ներկայությամբ, ստորագրել են Հայաստանի Հանրապետության և Ամերիկայի Միացյալ Նահանգների միջև Առևտրի և ներդրումների շրջանակային համաձայնագիրը։ Փաստաթղթով, երկու երկրները հավաստում են իրենց մտադրությունը՝ ստեղծել բարենպաստ պայմաններ ներդրումների և երկու երկրների միջև ապրանքաշրջանառության, առևտրի խրախուսման համար։

Նախատեսվում է ձևավորել Առևտրի և ներդրումների հայ-ամերիկյան խորհուրդ, որի հանդիպումներն անց են կացվելու առնվազն տարին մեկ անգամ։ Խորհուրդը կոչված է՝ բացահայտելու երկկողմ ներդրումների և առևտրի նոր ոլորտներ և աշխատանքներ տանելու դրանց զարգացման ու այդ ճանապարհին հնարավոր խոչընդոտների վերացման ուղղությամբ։
