Շուշիի ազատագրումը կյանքի ճանապարհի բացում էր, որով սկսվեց Արցախյան հաղթանակի ճանապարհը: Այս մասի մայիսի 8-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանն նշեց ՀՀ Ազգային արխիվի տնօրեն Ամատունի Վիրաբյանը:

«Փաստ է, որ 1920թ. մարտի 23-ին ադրբեջանցիները գրավեցին Շուշին՝ այրելով և ոչնչացնելով հայկական թաղամասը, և ուղիղ 72 տարի 2 ամիս հետո մենք ազատագրեցինք այն»,- ասաց Ամատունի Վիրաբյանը:

Գիտնականը համեմատեց Շուշիի ազատագրումը Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմի Մոսկվայի ճակատամարտի հետ, որը տանուկ տալու դեպքում Խորհդային Բանակը պարտվելու էր ամբողջ պատերազմում:

Նրա խոսքով՝ «ժամանակ է պետք, որպեսզի անկախ մարդիկ բնութագրեն Արցախյան պատերազմը: «Ամենը չէ, որ շուտ է բացահայտնում. ժամանակ է պետք»,- նկատեց Ամատունի Վիրաբյանը:

Ազգային արխիվի տնօրենը նշեց, որ ազգային արխիվում չկան Արցախյան ազատարամարտին վերաբերվող նյութեր, քանի որ դրանք պահվում էն Պաշտպանության նախարարության ռազմական արխիվներում և Արցախի Պաշտպանության բանակի արխիվում:
