Ագորի Բաբաս ցեղի անդամները, ովքեր բնակվում են Հնդկաստանի Վարանասի քաղաքում, հայտնի են մահացածների մարմին ուտելով։ Նրանք հավատացած են, որ մարդկային ամենամեծ վախը սեփական մահից վախենալն է, և որ այս վախը հոգևոր լուսավորության հասնելու խոչնդոտ է։ Նրանք հավատացած են, որ այս վախը հաղթահարելով՝ միայն կարող են հասնել հոգևոր լուսավորության։
Հինդուիզմի հետևորդների համաձայն՝ 5 տիպի մարդիկ կան, ում չի թույլատրվում դիակիզել. սրբերը, երեխաները, հղիները կամ չամուսնացած կանայք և մարդիկ, ովքեր մահացել են բորոտությունից և օձի խայթոցից։ Այս մարդիկ Գանգես գետ են գնում ու, նրանց դիերը ջրից հանելով, ուտում նրանց մարմինները։

Ամեն տարի Մուհարամ սուրբ ամսվա ընթացքում Մուհամեդ մարգարեի թոռան՝ Հուսեյնի նահատակության հիշատակին Շիա մահմեդականները զանգվածային խարազանման Աշուրա ծիսակատարությանն են մասնակցում։ Տղամարդիկ մտրակում են իրենց մարմիններն ու կտրում մաշկն՝ ամբողջովին արյան մեջ թաթախվելով։ Ինչպես երևում է՝ կրոնական տրանսի մեջ այս մարդիկ ցավ չեն զգում։

3. Վուդու և հոգու բռնում

Վուդուն Աֆրիկայի արևմտյան շատ շրջաններում կրոնական նշանակության ծիսակարգ է։ Դրա ծեսերից մեկի ժամանակ մարդուն «անոթի» կամ «միջոցի» են վերածում։ Սուբյեկտին անտառ են տանում Երկրի ոգու՝ Սակպատայի հետ միավորելու համար։ Ոգին մտնում է այդ մարդու մարմնի մեջ ու բռնում նրա հոգին այնպես, որ այդ մարդը կորցնում է գիտակցությունը։ Նրանք այս վիճակում են մնում երեք օր շարունակ առանց ջրի և սննդի։ Մինչև որ ի վերջո գիտակցության են բերվում մի շարք այլ ծեսեր իրականացնելուց հետո։

2. Կրակի վրայով քայլելը

 

Մալազիայի Պենանգ բնակավայրում մարդիկ նշում են դաոսական «Ինը կայսր աստվածների» տոնակատարությունը։ Այն մաքրման ծիսակատարությունների շարք է, որոնցից մեկի ժամանակ մարդիկ պետք է բոբիկ ոտքերով քայլեն վառվող ածուխի վրայով։ Պենանգցիները հավատացած են, որ կրակը հեռացնում է ամեն տեսակ անմաքրությունն ու վանում չար ոգիներին։ Հարյուրավոր հավատացյալներ քայլում են կրակի վրայով՝ երբեմն աստվածների պատկերներով արձանիկները ձեռքերում պահած։

1. Պար մահացածների հետ

Ֆամադիհանան (ոսկորների շրջումը) ավանդական տոն է, որը նշվում է Մադագասկարում։ Մարդիկ հավատացած են, որ որքան արագ է քայքայվում դիակն, այնքան ավելի արագ է հոգին հասնում անդրաշխարհ։ Այդ իսկ պատճառով նրանք իրենց հարազատներին հանում են գերեզմանից, պարում ոսկորների հետ կենդանի երաժշտության տակ, որից հետո կրկին թաղում նրանց։ Այս տարօրինակ ծեսն իրականացվում է ամեն երկու կամ յոթ տարին մեկ։
