Լոս Անջելեսում ՀՀ գլխավոր հյուպատոսության նախաձեռնությամբ մայիսի 9-ին տեղի է ունեցել Հաղթանակի և խաղաղության տոնին նվիրված միջոցառում, որին ներկա են եղել համայնքային կառույցների անդամներ, հոգևոր հայրեր, Լոս Անջելեսի և Գլենդեյլի տեղական իշխանության ներկայացուցիչներ, Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմի վետերաններ և արցախյան ազատամարտի մասնակիցներ:

Ինչպես  տեղեկացրին ՀՀ արտգործնախարարության մամուլի, տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապի վարչությունից, միջոցառմանը ներկա է եղել Լոս Անջելեսի մարզի կառավարիչ Մայք Անտոնովիչը: Իր ելույթում նա շեշտել է, որ հայ ժողովրդի անկախացման առաջին քայլերի ականատեսն է եղել, հետևել է անկախության հանրաքվեի ընթացքին՝ ընդգծելով, որ ներկայումս Հայաստանն ու հայերը տնտեսության, մշակույթի և այլ ոլորտներում գործակցության արժանի գործընկեր են: Մայք Անտոնովիչը Լոս Անջելեսում ՀՀ գլխավոր հյուպատոս Սերգեյ Սարկի սովին է հանձնել կառավարիչների խորհրդի հինգ անդամների ստորագրությունը կրող հռչակագիր՝ իբրև երախտագիտություն արդյունավետ գործակցության համար:

ՀՀ գխավոր հյուպատոս Սերգեյ Սարկիսովը ներկաներին առաջարկել է մեկ րոպե լռությամբ հարգել նրանց հիշատակը, ովքեր ընկել են ռազմի դաշտում: «1994թ. կնքվեց զինադադար, սակայն, ցավոք, Ադրբեջանի սադրիչ գործողությունների արդյունքում շարունակում են արձանագրվել նոր զոհեր: Այս ամենը ստիպում է մեզ զգոն լինել և ջանք չխնայել հանուն Հայաստանի և Արցախի զարգացման», - նշել է ՀՀ գլխավոր հյուպատոսը:

«Մենք ուրախ ենք ամերիկահայ համայքի հետ միասին նշել մայիսյան եռատոնը՝ Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմի հաղթանակը, Շուշիի ազատագրումը և Արցախի բանակի ստեղծման օրը: Մենք այսօր միասին պետք է ոչ միայն հիշենք մեր հաղթանակները, այլև խոսենք ապագա ձեռքբերումների մասին, որոնց հասնելու գաղտնիքը հայերի միասնականությունն է», - իր խոսքում շեշտել է Վաշինգտոնում ԼՂՀ մշտական ներկայացուցիչ Ռոբերտ Ավետիսյանը:

ՀՅԴ ԱՄՆ արևմտյան ափի կենտրոնական կոմիտեի նախագահ Վիգեն Հովսեփյանն իր ելույթում նշել է, որ հայ ժողովրդի հաղթանակները պատահականություն չեն. դրանք այլընտրանք չեն ունեցել, քանի որ հայերը կռվել են հայրենիքը, ինքնությունն ու ընտանիքը պաշտպանելու համար: Եվ այդ հաղթանակները հնարավոր է եղել ձեռք բերել ազգի միասնականության շնորհիվ:
