Արեգակնային համակարգի ամենագեղեցիկ մոլորակը` Սատուրնը, դիտելու ամենահարմար ժամանակը կլինի մայիսի 23-ի գիշերը: Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ը տեղեկացավ Հայկական աստղագիտական ընկերությունից, այդ գիշեր Երկիրը, շարժվելով իր ուղեծրով, կանցնի Արեգակի և Սատուրնի միջև:

Սատուրնի, ինչպես նաև այլ մոլորակների, նման դիրքը կոչվում է դիմակայություն, որը տեղի է ունենում միայն արտաքին մոլորակների դեպքում (Մարս, Յուպիտեր, Սատուրն, Ուրան, Նեպտուն): Դիմակայությունը տեղի է ունենում ամեն տարի, քանի որ Երկիրն ավելի արագ է պտտվում Արեգակի շուրջը, քան արտաքին մոլորակները և նրանց շրջանցելով՝ հայտնվում է Արեգակի և մոլորակի միջև: Օրինակ՝ Սատուրնի դիմակայությունն ամեն անգամ տեղի է ունենում նախորդ տարվանից 2 շաբաթ ուշացումով (2016թ. -ին այն կդիտվի հունիսի 3-ին):

Սատուրնը բավական հեշտ է գտնել. այն ներկայումս գտնվում է Կշեռքի համաստեղությունում` հորիզոնից բարձր, և տեսանելի կլինի ողջ գիշեր։ Դիմակայության ճշգրիտ պահը կլինի Երևանի ժամանակով 21:11-ին: Քանի որ Արեգակը կեսգիշերին հասնում է հորիզոնից ներքև իր առավելագույն հեռավորությանը, նրա հակառակ կետը (որտեղ գտնվում է Սատուրնը դիմակայության պահին) միևնույն ժամանակ ամենաբարձրն է երկնքում։ Այդ ժամանակ, Սատուրնն անցնում է դիմակայության, այն նաև իր ամենամոտ կետում է Երկրի նկատմամբ (այս դիրքը կոչվում է երկրամերձ կետ` perigee), դարձնելով այն ամենապայծառն ու դիտարժանը գիշերային երկնքում, քանի որ Սատուրնը երկրին բավականին մոտ է: Նույնիսկ փոքր սիրողական աստղադիտակով կամ հեռադիտակով լավ երևում են Սատուրնի օղակները, որոնք նրա ամենագրավիչ առանձնահատկությունն են:

Սատուրնը Արեգակնային համակարգի վեցերորդ մոլորակն է, իր չափերով զիջում է միայն Յուպիտերին, տրամագծով Երկրից մեծ է 9.5 անգամ, զանգվածով` 95 անգամ, իսկ խտությամբ փոքր է 8 անգամ: Նրա հեռավորությունը Երկրից տատանվում է մոտ 1200-1650 միլիոն կմ սահմաններում: Մակերևույթի միջին ջերմաստիճանն է Ցելսիուսի -176 աստիճան: Ունի 62 արբանյակ, որոնցից միայն 13-ն ունեն 50 կմ-ից մեծ տրամագիծ. նրանցից հատկապես հայտնի են Տիտանը՝ Արեգակնային համակարգի մոլորակների խոշորագույն արբանյակներից մեկը, Միմասը, Էնցելադուսը, Թետիսը, Դիոնան, Ռեան և Հապետուսը:
