 Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ ծայրագույն պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոսը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում հունիսի 5-ին ընդունել է Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության հոգևոր առաջնորդի` ուխտագնացությունների հարցով ներկայացուցիչ Սեյեդ Ալի Ղազի Ասգյարին՝ ուղեկցությամբ ՀՀ-ում Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Մոհամմադ Ռեյիսիի:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին Մայր Աթոռի տեղեկատվական համակարգից, ողջունելով Իրանի հոգևոր առաջնորդի ներկայացուցչի այցը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածին՝ Վեհափառ Հայրապետը գոհունակությամբ անդրադարձել է երկու ժողովուրդների պատմական կապերին՝ մասնավորապես, ընդգծելով հարևան երկրների միջև ձևավորված բարեկամության ու փոխհարաբերությունների առավել ամրապնդման անհրաժեշտությունը: Նորին Սրբությունը գնահատանքով է խոսել նաև մշակութային և հոգևոր կրթական ծրագրերի իրականացման գործում Մայր Աթոռի և ԻԻՀ դեսպանատան միջև առկ ա սերտ համագործակցության մասին: 

Իր հերթին Իրանի հոգևոր առաջնորդի ներկայացուցիչը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Նորին Սրբությանը հանդիպման համար և փաստել, որ երկու երկրների միջև կրոնական, քաղաքական և տնտեսական ոլորտներում առկա են ջերմ ու օրինակելի հարաբերություններ, որոնք տարեցտարի առավել զարգանում են: Սեյեդ Ալի Ղազի Ասգյարը գնահատանքով է նշել նաև երկրի կյանքի տարբեր ոլորտներում Իրանի հայ համայնքի ունեցած արժեքավոր դերակատարության մասին:

Զրույցի ընթացքում Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոսն ու Իրանի հոգևոր առաջնորդի ներկայացուցիչը մտահոգությամբ են անդրադարձել ներկայիս մարտահրավերներին` համաշխարհայնացման գործընթացին, հոգևոր-բարոյական արժեքների անկմանը, ընտանիքի պաշտպանվածության խնդրին, աշխարհում սկիզբ առած ծայրահեղական շարժումներին, որոնք իրենց կործանարար ազդեցությունն են թողնում ողջ մարդկության կյանքում: Ընդգծվել է, որ առանձին երկրներ և հոգևոր-կրոնական հաստատություններ միայնակ չեն կարող դիմագրավել մարդկային կյանքը հուզող այդ մարտահրավերներին, և կարևորվել է համատեղ ջանքերի գործադրումը` ի նպաստ տարբեր ազգերի և կրոնների ներկայացուցիչների խաղաղ ու համերաշխ համակեցության, ինչպես նաև հանդուրժողականության և համագործակցության ոգու զորացման:

 Հանդիպմանը ներկա են եղել Մայր Աթոռի Արտաքին հարաբերությունների և արարողակարգի բաժնի տնօրեն Գերաշնորհ Տ. Նաթան արքեպիսկոպոս Հովհաննիսյանը և Երևանի Ս. Գրիգոր Լուսավորիչ մայր եկեղեցու հոգևոր տեսուչ, ԵՊՀ Աստվածաբանության ֆակուլտետի դեկան Գերաշնորհ Տ. Անուշավան եպիսկոպոս Ժամկոչյանը:
