Սպիտակ քաղաքը  միացել է Եվրամիության կայուն էներգիայի շաբաթի միջոցառումներին` ԵՄ-ի կողմից ֆինանսավորվող ծրագրի միջոցով իր համար ընտրելով ապահով, մաքուր և արդյունավետ էներգիան: «Խնայենք էներգիան» խորագրով միջոցառման շրջանակներում Սպիտակը միանում է Եվրամիության նպատակներին և գնում  դեպի ցածր «կարբոնային« հասարակություն: Միջոցառմանն էին միացել ՀՀ կառավարության, միջազգային, տեղական, մասնավոր կազմակերպությունների ներկայացուցիչները, ինչպես նաև Սպիտակի բնակչությունը և Սպիտակի քաղաքապետարանը՝ տեղեկանալու, քննարկելու և իրենց ընտրության հաստատակամությունը հայտնելու էներգախնայողությանը և վերականգնվող էներգիայի կիրառմանը: 

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին Հաբիթաթ ֆոր Հյումենիթի Արմենիա» հիմնադրամից, միջոցառման հիմնական խնդիրն էր Սպիտակի բնակչությանը տեղեկացնել էներգաարդյունավետության և արևային էներգիայի կիրառման հաջողված փորձերի մասին, որն էլ հետագայում կնպաստի Սպիտակ քաղաքի Կայուն էներգետիկ զարգացման գործողությունների պլանի հաջող իրականացմանը՝ Քաղաքապետերի դաշնագրի ներքո:

Էներգախնայողության ոլորտում գործող կազմակերպությունների ցուցահանդեսի միջոցով Սպիտակի բնակչությանը ներկայացվեցին շուկայում առկա էներգախնայող և էներգաարդյունավետ նյութերը (ՀՀ-ում արտադրվող կամ ներկրվող), ինչպես նաև բանկերի և ֆինանսական կազմակերպությունների կողմից առաջարկվող՝ էներգախնայողությանն ու արևային էներգիայի կիրառմանն ուղղված նպատակային վարկային պրոդուկտները:

Համագործակցելով Երիտասարդ ինժեներների ասոցիացիայի հետ՝ Սպիտակի մոտ 40 դպրոցականներ ստացել էին գիտելիքներ և տեղեկատվություն էներգախնայողության և այլընտրանքային վերականգնվող էներգիայի մասին և միջոռացման շրջանակներում իրենց ստացած նոր գիտելիքներն արտահայտում էին նկարների և ինտելեկտ ուալ խաղ-մրցույթի միջոցով: Լավագույններն արժանացել են մրցանակների և պատվոգրերի: 

«Խնայենք էներգիան»  խորագրով միջոցառումն անցկացվում էր Եվրամիության կայուն էներգիայի շաբաթի շրջանակներում՝ «Վերականգնվող էներգիայի և էներգիայի արդյունավետ օգտագործման հնարավորությունը Վայք և Սպիտակ քաղաքներում» (ՎԱԷՀՔ) ծրագրի ներքո, որը Եվրամիության (ԵՄ) ֆինանսավորմամբ իրականացնում է «Հաբիթաթ ֆոր Հյումենիթի Արմենիա» հիմնադրամը՝ Վայքի ու Սպիտակի քաղաքապետարանների հետ համատեղ:

Ծրագրի հիմնական նպատակն է աջակցել Սպ իտակի և Վայքի քաղաքապետարաններին՝ զարգացնելու և փորձարկելու էներգիայի խնայողության մոդելներ՝ բազմաբնակարան և հանրային շենքերում էներգաարդյունավետությանն ուղղված միջոցառումների և արևային էներգիայի կիրառման ճանապարհով՝ համաձայն Քաղաքապետերի դաշնագրի ներքո իրենց Կայուն էներգետիկ զարգացման գործողությունների պլանի:
