Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ Արամ Ա կաթողիկոսը Կանադայի մայրաքաղաք Օտտավայում հանդիպել է Կրոնական ազատության նախարար Էնդրու Բեննըթի և նախարարության բարձարստիճան պատասխանատուների հետ: Այս մասին տեղեկացնում է Կիլիկիո կաթողիկոսության պաշտոնական կայքը: Հանդիպման ընթացքում կողմերը քննարկել են կրոնների ազատության սկզբունքներին առնչվող զանազան հարցեր: Նախարար Բեննըթը նշել է, որ այս օրերին Միջին Արևելքի իրադարձություններն իրենց օրակարգում հրատապ հարցեր են, մտահոգությամբ հետևում են Սիրիայում քրիստոնեության ու հայության դիմագրաված դժվարությունններին: Նա նաև նշել է, որ աշխատանք են տանում միջազգային հանրության ուշադրությունը կենտրոնացնելու շրջանի ներսում փոքրամասնությունների դիմագրաված դժվարությունների վրա:

Վեհափառը նաև առաջարկել է, որպեսզի Կանադային խորհրդարանը Կրոնական ազատության նախարարության կողմից առաջարկված հատուկ բանաձև որդեգրի, որով Թուրքիայից պահանջի վերջ տալ կրոնական ազատության բոլոր խախտումներին և վերադարձնել Թուրքիայում բռնագրավված բոլոր պաշտամունքի վայրերը, վանքերը, համայնքային դպրոցներն ու հիվանդանոցները, սրբավայրերը և եկեղեցապատկան ու ազգապատկան կալվածքները, իրենց օրինական իրավատերերին: Նա նաև հայտնել է, որ Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո կաթողիկոսությունը նախաքայլ է կատարել և Թուրքիայի Սահմանադրական դատարանում դատ է բացել` պա հանջելով Սիսի պատմական կաթողիկոսարանի վերադարձը, որ բազմաթիվ այլ եկեղեցապատկան և ազգապատկան կալվածքների նման բռնագրավված էր օսմանյան կառավարության կողմից:
