19–ամյա Մայա Նավա անհույս կերպով փորձում էր նվաճել գեղեցկության թագուհու տիտղոսը, և դրա համար սեփական լեզվին պլաստիկ կարել տվեց, որպեսզի քիչ ուտի և շուտ նիհարի։

Մայան ողջ կյանքը երազել է հաղթել Միսս Վենեսուելա գեղեցկության մրցույթում և դրա համար 7000 դոլար է ծախսել` քթի և կրծքերի պլաստիկ վիրահատության համար։

Որպեսզի հասնի իր նպատակին` աղջիկը մեծ քանակությամբ կոսմետիկա է օգտագործում, իսկ որպեսզի նիհարի` նա սեփական լեզվին պլաստիկե ցանց է կարել` քիչ կոշտ սնունդ ուտելու համար։

Իր հարցազրույցներից մեկում Մայան ասում է.

–Շնորհիվ դրա` ես շատ արագ նիհարեցի։ Ես ուտում եմ այն ամենը, ինչ դուք, ուղղակի քիչ քանակությամբ. ցանցը թույլ չի տալիս շատ ուտել։

Մայան ապրում է Բարրիո Սանտա–Կրուսեյում, Կարակասում, որը համարվում է աշխարհի ամենավտանգավոր քաղաքը։
