Ազգային ժողովի ՀՅԴ խմբակցության ղեկավար Արմեն Ռուստամյանը գտնում է, որ Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի նախագահների հանդիպումներն ավելի լավ են, քան պատերազմները, սակայն այդ հանդիպումներից մեծ ակնկալիքներ չունի: Ազգային ժողովում լրագրողների հետ զրույցում ՀՅԴ խմբակցության ղեկավարը նշեց, որ քանի դեռ Ադրբեջանը չի փոխել իր սադրիչ քաղաքականությունը, և շատ հարցերում ուղղակի հնարավոր չէ այդ երկրի հետ համաձայնության հասնել , այդ հանդիպումներից մեծ ակնկալիքներ չունի: «Ինչպե՞ս կարելի է բանակցել մի կողմի հետ, որը բացարձակապես չի պատկերացնում՝ իր զիջումները որոնք պիտի լինեն։ Այն, ինչ Ադրբեջանը ներկայացնում է, դա միակողմանի զիջումներ է ենթադրում հայկական կողմից: Եթե մի ձեռքով բանակցությունների մեջ ես, մյուս ձեռքով՝ պատերազմի դաշտում, սա չի կարող համարվել նորմալ գործընթաց»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ ասաց Ռուստամյանը։
Պատգամավորը կարծում է, որ Սարգսյան-Ալիև հանդիպումը չէր կարող Պուտինի հետ հանդիպմամբ սահմանափակվել, քանզի մանդատը մեկն է՝ եռանախագահներ կան, և այդ եռանախագահների մանդատը չի կարող փոխվել որևէ այլ ձևաչափով։ «Եվ կարծում եմ, որ դրա պատճառով է, որ այդ հանդիպմանը հետևել է նաև հանդիպումը Ջոն Քերիի հետ, և չեմ բացառում, որ լինի նաև հանդիպում ֆրանսիական կողմի հետ, որը նորմալ եմ համարում»,- պարզաբանեց Ռուստամյանը:
Հարցին, թե արդյոք որևէ դինամիկա տեսնու՞մ է այս հանդիպումներում, Արմեն Ռուստամյանը պատասխանեց, որ իր կարծիքով՝ դինամիկան պարտադրել է հայկական բանակը, երբ հետ է մղել հակառակորդի լայն ճակատով հարձակումները։ Ըստ Ռուստամյանի՝ սա ստիպեց ադրբեջանական կողմին նորից գալ բանակցությունների:
