Եվրոպական խորհրդի նախագահ Դոնալդ Տուսկի հետ հանդիպումը ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը բնորոշեց վառ հնարավորություն` Հայաստան-ԵՄ հարաբերությունների զարգացման հեռանկարները, հուզող բազմաթիվ հարցերի շուրջ մտքեր ու գաղափարներ քննարկելու համար: «Արմենպրես»-ի  փոխանցմամբ, ՀՀ Նախագահի նստավայրում կայացած համատեղ մամուլի ասուլիսի ժամանակ ՀՀ Նախագ ահը շեշտեց, որ հայկական կողմը շահագրգիռ է, որ Տուսկի պաշտոնավարման ընթացքում Հայաստանի կարեւորագույն գործընկեներից մեկի` ԵՄ-ի հետ հարաբերությունները շարունակեն ընդլայնվել: «Մենք արձանագրեցինք, որ ՀՀ-ԵՄ հարաբերությունները զարգանում են դինամիկ կերպով: Դա վկայում է, որ առկա են երկուստեք քաղաքական հանձնառություն եւ, ամենակարեւորը, ընդհանուր արժեհամակարգ, որի վրա կառուցում ենք զարգացման մեր ուղին: Վստահ եմ, որ մեր հարաբերությունների սերտացումը, Հայաստանում ժողովրդավարական բարեփոխումների հետագա խորացումը շարունակական բնույթ են կրել ու»,- ասաց Նախագահը` հավելելով, որ այս մասին են վկայում ԵՄ-ի տարբեր կառույցների հետ շարունակվող աշխատանքը: Անդրադառնալով մայիսին Ռիգայում կայացած ԱլԳ գագաթնաժողովին` Սերժ Սարգսյանն ասաց, որ Ռիգայում արձանագրվեց տարբերակված մոտեցմամբ ԵՄ եւ գործընկեր երկրների միջեւ փոխշահավետ համագործակցություն ծավալելու հանձնառությունը: «Լիահույս եմ, որ առաջիկայում կմեկնարկեն ՀՀ-ԵՄ նոր իրավական փաստաթղթղի շուրջ բանակցությունները, որոնց հաջող ավարտը նոր էջ կբացի երկկողմ հարաբերություններում: Մենք նաեւ կարեւորեցինք, որ գագաթնաժողովի մասնակիցները վերահաստատեցին ԵՄ-ի կողմից ԼՂ հակամարտության կարգավորման գործում իրենց լիակատար աջակցությունը ԵԱՀԿ ՄԽ միջնորդական առաքելության ջանքերին եւ 2009-ից ի վեր այդ պետությունների ղեկավարների մակարդակով արված հայտարարություններին, ինչը եւս մեկ անգամ վկայում է լուծումը այլ հարթակներ տեղափոխող ջանքերի անհեռանկար լինելու մասին: Որքան էլ  Ադրբեջանը փորձի խեղաթյուրել այդ հիմնախնդրի էությունը, ԼՂ ժողովրդի ազատ կամարտահայտությամբ իր ապագան որոշելու իրավունքը վաղուց չի վիճարկվում: Այն ամրագրված է ԵԱՀԿ ՄԽ համանախագահողների հայտարարությունում: Այդ գաղափարի համար մենք պատրաստ ենք առաջ ընթանալ ողջամիտ փոխզիջումների ճանապարհով»,- ասաց Սերժ Սարգսյանը` հավելելով, որ Դոնալդ Տուսկի հետ այս հանդիպումը եւս մեկ անգամ փաստում է` ՀՀ-ի եւ ԵՄ-ի միջեւ առկա են ընդհանուր ըմբռնում եւ փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն` խորացնելու առկա կապերն ու ձեւաչափերը:
