Տեր Նարեկ վարդապետ Ավագյանը ծնվել է 1979թ. օգոստոսի 12-ին, Արագածոտնի մարզի Օշական գյուղում: 1986–1996թթ. սովորել է Օշականի Ս. Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի անվան միջնակարգ դպրոցում: 1996–2002թթ. սովորել է Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնի Հոգևոր Ճեմարանում (այժմ` Գևորգյան Հոգևոր Ճեմարան–Համալսարան): 2001թ. դեկտեմբերի 25–ին` Սուրբ Ստեփանոս Նախավկայի տոնին, ձեռամբ Շիրակի թեմի Առաջնորդ Գերաշնորհ Տ. Միքայել եպս. Աջապահյանի, Երևանի Սուրբ Գրիգոր Լուսավորիչ Մայր Եկեղեցում ձեռնադրվել է սարկավագ: 2002թ. հուլիսի 6-ին Վեհափառ Հայրապետի տնօրինությամբ աշխատա նքի է նշանակվել Մայր Տաճարում` որպես լուսարար: 2002թ. դեկտեմբերի 10-ից մինչև 2003 թվականի փետրվարի 10-ը աշխատել է Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնի Վարչակազմակերպական գործերի կառավարչի գործավար–քարտուղար: 2003թ. փետրվարի 10-ից մինչև 2005թ. դեկտեմբերի 9-ը աշխատել է Մայր Աթոռում` որպես պարետ: 2003թ. մայիսի 26–ին պաշտպանել է ավարտաճառ «Համատեսական Ավետարանների արևելահայերեն թարգմանության դարձվածային միավորները» թեմայով:

2003թ. օգոստոսի 31–ին` Աստվածածնի գոտու գյուտի տոնի օրը, ձեռամբ Գերաշնորհ Տ. Շահան արք. Սվաճյանի, ձեռնադրվել է կուսակրոն քահանա: 2005թ. դեկտեմբերի 9–ից նշանակվել է Աբխազիայի հոգևոր հովիվ: 2006թ. ապրիլի 28–ին վերադարձել է Հայաստան և կրկին աշխատանքի անցել Մայր Աթոռում որպես պարետ: 2006թ. նոյեմբերի 1–ից մինչև 2007թ. մարտի 1-ը եղել է Մայր Աթոռ Ս. Էջմիածնի Մկրտարանի տեսուչ: 2007թ. մարտի 1-ից մինչև 2013թ. փետրվարի 28-ը եղել է Սուրբ Խոր Վիրապ վանքի վանահայր: 2013թ. մարտի 1-ին նշանակվել է Մայր Աթոռի Ներսիսյան անտառի մանկական խաղահրապարակի տնօրեն: 2013թ. հոկտեմբերի 5-ին պաշտպանել է վարդապետական թեզ «Թաղման ծեսն ըստ ձեռագիր և տպագիր «Մաշտոցների» ԺԶ-ԺԸ դդ. և ժողովրդական սովորությունները» թեմայով: Նույն թվականի հոկտեմբերի 11-ին, ձեռամբ Շիրակի թեմի առաջնորդ Տ. Միքայել եպս. Աջապահյանի, Օշականի Ս. Մեսրոպ Մաշտոց եկեղեցում ստացել է մասնավոր վարդապետական աստիճան: 2013թ. նոյեմբերի 1-ին Վեհափառ Հայրապետի տնօրինությամբ ծառայության է նշանակվել Իրաքի Հայոց թեմում:

2014թ. դեկտեմբերի 1-ից ծառայության է անցել Գևորգյան Հոգևոր Ճեմարանում` որպես ավագ վերակացու և դասախոս:
