ԱՄՆ-ի խոշորագույն քաղաքը համարվող և 17-րդ դարում հիմնադրված Նյու Յորքն ունի մոտ 9 մլն բնակիչ, գրում է fishki.net-ը։ 

Նյու Յորքը մեծ ազդեցություն ունի համաշխարհային առևտրի, ֆինանսների, մեդիայի, արվեստների, նորաձևության, գիտության, տեխնոլոգիաների, կրթության և այլ ոլորտների վրա։

Նյու Յորքը ներառում է 5 շրջան՝ բորո. Բրոնքս, Մանհեթեն, Քուինս, Բրուքլին, Սթաթեն Այլենդ։ Հիմնական տեսարժան վայրերը գտնվում են Մանհեթենում։

Այստեղ են գտնվում նաև հայտնի Էմփայր սթեյթ բիլդինգը, Քրայսլեր բիլդինգը, Ռոքֆելլեր կենտրոնը, Վուլվորթ բիլդինգը, Մետրոպոլիտեն թանգարանը, Մետրոպոլիտեն օպերան, լեգենդար «Չելսի» հյուրանոցը և այլն։

Նյու Յորքը հայտնի է իր երկնաքերերով, որոնցից շատերը կառուցվել են 20-րդ դարում, սակայն այն ժամանակ չկային անվտանգության կանոններ, և շինարարները երբեմն աշխատում էին մեծ բարձրությունների վրա՝ առանց ապահովագրող ճոպանների։
