Ադրբեջան հասած գլոբալ տնտեսական ճգնաժամը կործանարար ազդեցություն է գործել այդ երկրի խոշոր օլիգարխների ընկերությունների գործերի վրա: Բանը հասել է նրան, որ իր լոբբիստական գործունեությունը Վաշինգտոնում դադարեցրել է «Ամերիկա-Ադրբեջան դաշինք» լոբբիստական կազմակերպությունը, որը 2011 թվականին ստեղծվել էր Ադրբեջանի տրանսպորտի նախարար Զիյա Մամեդովի որդու մի քանի, մասնավորապես, Garant Holding եւ ZGAN ընկերությունների սեփականատեր Անար Մամեդովի կողմից:

Ինչպես հաղորդում են ադրբեջանական ԶԼՄ-ները, Անար Մամեդովը ֆինանսական խնդիրների պատճառով դադարեցրել է իր գործունեությունն ԱՄՆ-ում, որն ուղղված էր ամերիկյան ազդեցիկ քաղաքական վերնախավի` սենատորների, կոնգրեսականների եւ քաղաքական գործիչների վրա ազդեցությանն` ամերիկա-ադրբեջանական հարաբերությունները կառավարական մակարդակով ամրապնդելու նպատակով:

Մի քանի շաբաթ առաջ Անար Մամեդովը փակել է իր գրասենյակը Վաշինգտոնում, իսկ գրասենյակի անձնակազմը պաշտոնապես ազատ է արձակվել: Նախարարի որդին մի քանի տարի առաջ ամերիկյան քաղաքական երկնակամարում հայտնվել էր իր մեծ հայտերով, անիրական նկրտումներով եւ խոշորածավալ ծրագրերով` հսկայական գումարներով իր կողմը քաշելով նախկին կոնգրեսական Դեն Բերթոնին, որը գլխավորում էր Դաշինքի խորհուրդը: Վաշինգտոնի լավագույն ռեստորաններում Անար Մամեդովի կողմից կազմակերպված ընթրիքներին հրավիրվում էին ամերիկյան քաղաքական վերնախավի նշանավոր ներկայացուցիչներ:< /p>

Բարդ իրավիճակը, որում հայտնվել են Զիյա Մամեդովն ու օլիգարխ հոր փողերով միջազգային հարթակ ձգտող նրա որդին, ավելի է սաստկացել նրանց ընկերությունների վատ կառավարման պատճառով: Ներիշխանական աղբյուրների հավաստի տեղեկություններով` Անար Մամեդովի մոտ խոշոր պարտքեր են առաջացել: Նրա գործերի ողբալի վիճակի վրա խիստ ազդել է նաեւ մի այլ օլիգարխի` Հաֆիզ Մամեդովի հետ նրա ունեցած ֆինանսական գժտությունը, որը շարունակում է տրանսպորտի նախարարի որդուն մեղադրել ֆինանսական մեքենայությունների մեջ:

Մամեդովների ֆինանսական կայսրության ձախողման պատճառներից են նաեւ 50 մլն դոլարով անձնական ինքնաթիռի գնումն ու Թուրքիայի Բոդրում քաղաքում հյուրանոցի շինարարությունը, սակայն ոչ պրոֆեսիոնալ կառավարման հետեւանքն այն է, որ Վաշինգտոնում Ադրբեջանի շահերը պաշտպանելու համար ստեղծված ««Ամերիկա-Ադրբեջան դաշինքն» այլեւս փակ է, եւ Ադրբեջանի եւ նրա իշխանությունների օգտին լոբբիզմի համար սենատորներին կերակրելու փող էլ չկա», գրում է ադրբեջանական մամուլը:
