A tough looking anteater pumped itself up for a confrontation with a Jeep when it bravely stepped out in front of the car on a dirt track. Photographer Luciano Candisani said the animal was making itself look 'bigger' and 'stronger' after spotting the vehicle. Mr Candisani, 44, was running a photography workshop in the Pantanal wetlands in Brazil.

A farmer gets to grips with over 5,000lbs of pure beef in this adrenaline-fuelled hundred-yard bull race. Taking place over a four-week period this bi-annual Indonesian tradition, called Pacu Jawi is a celebration of a plentiful rice harvest. Pictures show amateur photographer Rick White (35) being pulled along by the sheer power of these musclebound beasts of burden. Other participants include around a dozen local all-male farmers and residents. The fastest cows can then command the highest sale prices at auction. Rick White was able to capture these action-packed shots from the side-lines prior to taking the bull by the horns in Sumatra, Indonesia.
