Կարմիր խաչի գնահատումների համաձայն՝ 2014 թվականին տարերային ու տեխնածին աղետների հետեւանքով զոհվել Է 8 հազար 186 մարդ: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում է Արմենպրեսը, հաղորդել է ՏԱՍՍ-ը՝ հղում անելով Կարմիր խաչի եւ կարմիր մահիկի ընկերության միջազգային ֆեդերացիայի՝ սեպտեմբերի 24-ին հրապարակված զեկույցին:

«2014 թվականին աղետներից տուժել է գրեթե 107 մլն մարդ, այդ թիվն ավելի մեծ է, քան մեկ տարի առաջ»,- նշվում է հետազոտության մեջ:

Անցած տարում զոհերի թվաքանակն ամենաքիչն է եղել վերջին 30 տարվա ընթացքում: 2014 թվականին աղետներից մահացությունը գրեթե 90 տոկոսով ցածր է եղել, քան վերջին տասնամյակում տարեկան միջինը:

Կարմիր խաչը պատահարների թվի ավելացումը կապում է կլիմայի փոփոխությունների հետ: Անցյալ տարի այդ պատճառով է տեղի ունեցել արտակարգ պատահարների 87 տոկոսը: Տարերային աղետների կեսը կազմում են հեղեղումներն ու սողանքները:

Սաստիկ հեղեղումներ են գրանցվել Հնդկաստանում, Պակիստանում եւ Բանգլադեշում: Տարերային աղետների ենթարկված երկրներից ամենից շատ տուժել է Չինաստանը: Երաշտը, փոթորիկներն ու հեղեղումները վնաս են պատճառել երկրի 58 մլն բնակիչների:

Աղետների գրեթե կեսը (49 տոկոսը) տեղի է ունեցել Ասիայում: Դրանց բաժին է ընկնում զոհերի երկու երրորդը (63 տոկոսը):

Անցյալ տարի տարերային աղետները 99,2 մլրդ դոլարի վնաս են պատճառել, ինչը զգալիորեն ցածր է, քան վերջին տասը տարվա միջինը՝ տարեկան 147 մլրդ դոլար:
