Հազարամյակի նպատակների հասանելիության համատեքստում կատարված վերլուծությունը փաստում է, որ 1990-2014թթ. ժամանակահատվածում մայրական մահացության միջին եռամյա ցուցանիշը կրճատվել է ավելի քան կիսով չափ (1999-2001թթ.` 40.3 մահ 100 հազար կենդանածնիհաշվով, 2011-2013թթ.` մահ 100 հազարկենդանածնի հաշվով):

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ առողջապա հության նախարարության հասարակայնության հետ կապերի բաժնից, Հայաստանում տարեկան արձանագրվում է հղիության ախտաբանության 18 հազար դեպք և նրանցից 70-80-ի մոտ ախտաբանությունն ընթանում է ծայրահեղ ծանր, կյանքին վտանգ սպառնալով:

Բարեբախտաբար, որակյալ բժշկական օգնության ոլորտում ներդրված գործելակարգերի և չափորոշիչների խելամիտ կիրառման շնորհիվ յուրաքանչյուր 4-5 օրը մեկ Հայաստանում մոր կյանք է փրկվում։ Կրիտիկական վիճակներ ստեղծվում են ծննդաբերության ընթացքում կամ հետծննդյան բարդությունների արդյունքում։ Նման դեպքերում ծննդկանների կյանքի փրկության համար պայքարում են ոչ միայն մանկաբարձ-գինեկոլոգները, այլև մյուս նեղ մասնագետները։

Տարածած հաղորդագրության մեջ նաև նշվում է, որ մայրական մահացության մեր ցուցանիշն ամենաբարվոքն է ԱՊՀ երկրներում և նույնն է` ինչ Արևելյան Եվրոպայում: Սա առողջապահության համակարգում և, մասնավորապես, մանկաբարձագինեկոլոգիական ոլորտում իրականացված բազմաթիվ ծրագրերի և միջոցառումների արդյունք է:

Մայրական մահացություն է համարվում կնոջ մահը հղիության ընթացքում, ծննդաբերության ժամանակ և հետծննդյան շրջանում (մինչև հետծննդյան 42-րդ օրը), բացառությամբ դժբախտ պատահարների: Ցուցանիշը հաշվարկվում է 100.000 կենդանածնի նկատմամբ:

Հայաստանում մայրական մահացության ցուցանիշի (ՄՄՑ) տարեկան տատանումները զգալի մեծ են, ինչը պայմանավորված է երկրի փոքր բնակչությամբ: Այն աննախադեպ բարձր է եղել 2000թ.-ին` կազմելով 71/100 000։ 2010-2014թթ. ընթացքում մայրական մահացության ցուցանիշը տատանվել է` 6.8-23.6 սահմաններում: ԱՀԿ հանձնարարականով, եթե երկրի բնակչության թիվը պակաս է 5 միլիոնից, մայրական մահացության միտումների գնահատականը պետք է տրվի միջին եռամյա ցուցանիշի համեմատության կտրվածքով:

Մայրական մահացության 2011-2013թթ. միջին եռամյա ցուցանիշը շուրջ 1,5 անգամ ցածր է ԱՊՀ երկրների միջին ցուցանիշից (29,0), սակայն այն զգալի գերազանցում է Եվրամիության երկրների համանուն ցուցանիշի միջին մակարդակը (5,0): 2012-2014թթ. միտումները վկայում են, որ ՄՄ միջին տարեկան ցուցանիշը նվազել է շուրջ 21%-ով (2012թ-23.6, 2013թ.` 21.5, 2014թ.` 18,6 տոկոս): ՀՀ ԱՆ օպերատիվ ընթացակարգով հավաքագրված տվյալներով` 2015թ. ընթացքում, հանրապետության ծննդօգնության հիմնարկներում արձանագրվել է մայրական մահացության 5 դեպք (նույն թիվը` 2014թ. նույն ժամանակահատվածում):
