Թբիլիսիում գտնվող Հայ Առաքելական  եկեղեցու Վիրահայոց Թեմի Սուրբ Գեւորգ առաջնորդանիստ եկեղեցու վերաօծման եւ բացման արարողությունը կկայանը հոկտեմբերի 30-31-ին:

 Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին փոխանցեցին Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու Վիրահայոց թեմի մամուլի դիվանից, եկեղեցու օծման կարգը կսկսվի ուրբաթ օրը, հոկտեմբերի 30-ին, ժամը 12:00-ին: Վիրահայոց թեմի առաջնորդ Գերաշնորհ Տեր Վազգեն եպիսկոպոս Միրզախանյանի ձեռամբ կօծվեն եկեղեցու 12 սյուները և Սուրբ Սարգիս զորավար և Սրբոց Վարդանանց խորանը: Հաջորդ օրը` հոկտեմբերի 31-ին, ձեռամբ Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Բ Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոսի կօծվեն տաճարի Սուրբ սեղանը, Մկրտության ավազանը, խորանը և Սուրբ Ավետարանիչների սյուները: Վեհափառ Հայրապետի կողմից կկատարվի բարերարների պարգևատրում: Նույն օրը ժամը 13:00-ին նորաօծ առաջնորդանիստ եկեղեցում կմատուցվի անդրանիկ Սուրբ և Անմահ Պատարագ:

Եկեղեցու վերանորգման նախաձեռնողը հայազգի գործարար եւ բարերար Ռուբեն Վարդանյանն է: Վերջինս ընտանիքով Թբիլիսի այցելության ժամանակ, տեսել է նորացված հին քաղաքում Թբիլիսիի գլխավոր հայ եկեղեցու՝ Սուրբ Գեւորգի անմխիթար վիճակն ու որոշում կայացրել ստեղծել Սուրբ Գեւորգ եկեղեցու վերանորոգման հիմնադրամ եւ դրա շուրջը հավաքել մի շարք գործարարների եւ մտահոգ մարդկանց։ Վերոնիկա Զոնաբենդ, Սերգեյ Սարկիսով, Ռուսուդան Մախաշվիլի, Բիձինա Իվանիշվիլի, Դանիիլ Խաչատուրով, Բորիս եւ Գոռ Նահապետյաններ, Անդրեյ Մկրտչյան`ահա այն մարդիկ, ովքեր գումար են հատկացրել եկեղեցու վերանորոգման համար։

Սուրբ Գեւորգ եկեղեցին կառուցվել է 13-րդ դարում: Այստեղ է գտնվել Վիրահայոց թեմի առաջնորդի նստավայրը։ Եկեղեցու դիմացգտնվում է մեծ հայ բանաստեղծ Սայաթ-Նովայի գերեզմանը։ 1957 թ. 4 անվանի հայազգի զորավարների` Միքայել Լորիս-Մելիքովի, Արշակ Տեր-Ղուկասովի, Իվան Լազարևի < i>և Բեհբութ Շելկովնիկովի աճյունները տեղափոխվեցին Սուրբ Գևորգեկեղեցու բակ։ Եկեղեցու ներսում 1923-24 թվականներին Գևորգ Բաշինջաղյանն ստեղծել է ավետարանական սյուժեներով չորսորմնանկար։ Դրանք պատկերված են գմբեթը պահող չորս որմնասյուների պատերին` հատակից 3 մետր բարձրությամբ:
