Սեպտեմբերի 12-ին Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հանրապետության արտաքին գործերի նախարար Կարեն Միրզոյանն այցելել է Բասկերի Երկրի խորհրդարան, որտեղ հանդիպում է ունեցել խորհրդարանի նախագահ Բակարտչո Տեխերիա Օտերմինի հետ։
Հանդիպման ընթացքում Կարեն Միրզոյանը ներկայացրել է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հանրապետությունում պետականաշինության և Արցախի միջազգային ճանաչման գործընթացները, ինչպես նաև ադրբեջանաղարաբաղյան հակամարտության խաղաղ կարգավորման ներկայիս փուլը։
Մտքեր են փոխանակվել Արցախի և Բասկերի Երկրի օրենսդիր մարմինների միջև համագործակցության զարգացման հնարավորությունների և հեռանկարների շուրջ։
Կարեն Միրզոյանը Բակարտչո Տեխերիա Օտերմինին է փոխանցել Արցախ այցելելու ԼՂՀ Ազգային ժողովի նախագահ Աշոտ Ղուլյանի հրավերը։
Այցի շրջանակներում Կարեն Միրզոյանը հանդիպել է նաև խորհրդարանական ուժերի ներկայացուցիչների հետ։ Անդրադառնալով նույն օրը Բասկերի Երկրի խորհրդարանի կողմից ընդունված ԼՂՀ ինքնորոշման իրավունքը ճանաչող բանաձևին, Կարեն Միրզոյանը դրական է գնահատել այն և նշել, որ, լինելով միջազգային հանրության աջակցության ևս մեկ կարևոր դրսևորում՝ ի սատարումն ԼՂՀ ազատ ու անկախ զարգանալու շարունակական ջանքերին, բանաձևը կնպաստի երկու բարեկամ ժողովուրդների միջև կապերի զարգացմանն ու ամրապնդմանը:
Նույն օրը Կարեն Միրզոյանն այցելել է Գեռնիկա քաղաք, որտեղ հյուրընկալվել է Գեռնիկայի քաղաքապետ Խոսե Մարիա Գորոնյոյի կողմից։ Հանդիպման ընթացքում Կարեն Միրզոյանը նշել է, որ ներկայացնում է մի երկիր, որի խաղաղ քաղաքացիները նույնպես պատերազմի արհավիրքների զոհ են դարձել, և խորապես հարգում է Գեռնիկայի անմեղ զոհերի հիշատակը։
ԼՂՀ արտաքին գերատեսչության ղեկավարը նաև այցելել է բասկ ժողովրդի համար սրբավայր համարվող Gernikako Arbola (Գեռնիկայի Ծառ), որտեղ տեղի է ունենում Բասկերի Երկրի լեհենդակարիների-նախագահների երդման արարողությունը։
Գեռնիկա քաղաքը բասկ ժողովրդի հնագույն կենտրոններից է։ 1937 թ. քաղաքացիական պատերազմի ժամանակ քաղաքը ենթարկվել է ռմբակոծման և գրեթե ամբողջությամբ ոչնչացվել է։ Այդ իրադարձությանն է նվիրված Պաբլո Պիկասոյի հանրահայտ «Գեռնիկա» նկարը (1937 թ.)։
