Մերլին Մոնրոն մինչ օրս դասվում է համաշխարհային սեքս խորհրդանիշների շարքում, որոնց կերպարներն մինչ օրս էլ արդիական են համարվում:

Սիրված դերասանուհի և շատերի համար կանացիության խորհրդանիշ լինելուց բացի Մոնրոն նաև յոգայի պատմության մեջ է հիշատակվում: Բանն այն է, որ դերասանուհու մասին գրվել է Ամերկայում յոգայի մշակույթի պատմության մասին գրված «The Subtle Body» գրքում, որը լույս է տեսել 1956 թվականին: Այս գրքում ցուցադրվել են դեռևս 1948 թվականին պատրաստված լուսանկարները, որոնցում դերասանուհին յոգայի տարատեսակ դիրքեր է ցուցադրում: Այդ ժամանակ յոգան այդքան էլ տարածված չէր ԱՄՆ-ում: Յոգայի առաջին ստուդիան միայն 1940-ականներին է հիմնվել այն էլ միայն ԱՄՆ Կալիֆորնիա նահանգի Լոս Անջելես քաղաքում: 1960-ականներին նոր միայն յոգան կսել է լայն տարածում գտնել ԱՄՆ-ում: Դերասանուհի Մերլին Մորնրոն այն առաջիններից է, ովքեր յոգան իրենց կյանքի մի մասն են դարձրել:
