Գավառ քաղաքում մեծ հանդիսավորությամբ բացվեց եւ օծվեց Արցախյան ազատամարտում զոհված հայորդիների եւ Հայոց սուրբ նահատակների հիշատակը հավերժող խաչքար-հուշարձան, որը տեղադրվել է քաղաքի կենտրոնական հրապարակում` մարզպետարանի շենքի դիմաց: «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ` բացման արարողությանը ներկա էին Գեղարքունիքի մարզպետ Ռաֆիկ Գրիգորյանը, մարզպետի տեղակալներ Անդրանիկ Հակոբյանը, Կարեն Հակոբյանը, ԱԺ պատգամավոր, ԵԿՄ վարչության նախագահ գեներալ Մանվել Գրիգորյանը, մարզի համայնքների ղեկավարներ, Արցախյան ազատամարտի մասնակիցներ, զոհված ազատամարտիկների ծնողներ, տարածաշրջանի բնակիչներ եւ պատանի երկրապահներ: Հուշարձանն օծվեց ՀՀ ԶՈՒ հոգեւոր առաջնորդ Տեր-Վրթանես եպիսկոպոս Աբրահամյանի ձեռամբ, իսկ օծմանը մասնակցեցին նաեւ Գեղարքունիքի մարզի հոգեւոր առաջնորդն ու հովիվները:

«Մարդու շնորհներից մեկը նախաձեռնությունն է, եւ պետք է հավատարիմ մնալ այդ իրողությանը: Այս նախաձեռնության շնորհիվ Գավառը կունենա իր սուրբ նահատակաց հուշակոթողը: Այսօր Տիրոջ խաչը կանչել է մեզ` հավաքվելու Գավառում, եւ մեր ներքին ձայնն իր հերթին կանչում է, որ լինենք միաբանված Հավատքի, Հայրենիքի, Պետության շուրջ, որով պետք է ուղղորդվենք», -ասաց ՀՀ ԶՈՒ հոգեւոր առաջնորդը:

Ծաղկեդրման եւ խոնարհման արարողությանը հաջորդեց պարգեւատրումը: «Հայաստանի երկրապահ» մեդալներով ու սուրբ գրքերով պարգեւատրվեցին Գեղարքունիքի մարզի շուրջ երկու տասնյակ զոհված ազատամարտիկների մայրեր եւ երիտասարդ երկրապահներ:

Ելույթով հանդես եկավ գեներալ Մանվել Գրիգորյանը. «Սիրելի մայրե’ր, մենք գլուխ ենք խոնարհում ձեր առաջ, որ նման առյուծներ եք ծնել, որոնք պետականություն, անկախություն կերտեցին եւ հայրենիքն իրենց արյան սրբագրմամբ մաքրեցին թշնամուց: Դուք նաեւ մեր մայրերն եք, եւ քանի դեռ ապրում եք` մենք որբեր չենք: Շնորհավորում եմ բոլորիդ հուշարձանի բացման եւ պարգեւատրման կապակցությամբ: Այս խաչքարով կենդանացնում ենք մեր պատմությունը, մշակույթն ու հայ արվեստը: Այն, ինչը թշնամին փշրեց Ջուղայում, պետք է հարություն առնի մեր հայրենիքում»,-շեշտեց Մանվել Գրիգորյանը:

Հուշարձանը կրկնօրինակում է Հին Ջուղայի` ազերի հրոսակների կողմից ոչնչացված խաչքարերից մեկը:  Խաչքար-հուշարձանը կերտված է կարմիր տուֆից: Այն պատրաստվել, տեղադրվել է ԵԿՄ նախագահ Մանվել Գրիգորյանի նախաձեռնությամբ:
