Արդեն մի քանի օր է, ինչ «Առաջին ալիքով» հեռարձակվում է 16 մասից բաղկացած «Հատուկ բաժին» հեռուստաֆիլմը: Ֆիլմը դետեկտիվ ժանրի է, որի գործող անձինք Ոստիկանության համակարգում ստեղծված Օպերատիվ-քրեագիտական հատուկ բաժնի աշխատակիցներն են: «Հատուկ բաժնում» առավել բարդ և հասարակական հնչեղություն ունեցող հանցագործությունները իրենց գործում գիտակ աշխատակիցները նորագույն տեխնիկական եւ լաբորատոր սարքավորումներով համալրված բաժնում հնարավորություն ունեն կատարելու ցանկացած քրեագիտական հետազոտություն. ահա սա է ընկած ֆիլմի սյուժեի հիմքում: «Հատուկ բաժնում» նկարահանվել են Շանթ Հովհաննիսյանը, Մարիամ Դավթյանը, Բաբկեն Չոբանյանը, Սեպուհ Ապիկյանը, Վաչե Երիցյանը, Ալեքսանդր Բադալյանը եւ այլք: Սցենարիստը Հարություն Ղուկասյանն է, ռեժիսորներն են Էդգար Բաղդասարյանը և Արեն Մալաքյանը:

«Հատուկ բաժնի» գլխավոր հերոսներից է դերասան, Երևանի թատրոնի և կինոյի պետական ինստիտուտի Գորիսի մասնաճյուղի հիմնադիր-տնօրեն Շանթ Հովհաննիսյանը, ով սկզբունքորեն չի նկարահանվում սերիալներում: Life.panorama.am-ին դերասանը պատմեց, որ այս անգամ ընդունել է առաջարկը, քանի որ իրեն գոհացրել է որակը. «Այո, ես չեմ ցանկանում նկարահանվել բազմասերիանոց, երկարաշունչ սերիալներում, բայց այս անգամ համաձայնեցի, քանի որ սցենարն արդեն ամբողջությամբ պատրաստ էր, բացի այդ, այն լինելու էր ընդամենը 16 սերիա: Ռեժիսոր Էդգար Բաղդասարյանի հետ խոսելուց հետո հասկացա, որ «Հատուկ բաժինը» այսօրվա համատարած սերիալային որակին չի համապատասխանելու: Այս ֆիլմը դետեկտիվ ժանրի է, որին տրվել է գեղարվեստական ֆիլմի որակ»,- պատմեց Շանթ Հովհաննիսյանը:
