Министр иностранных дел КНР Ван И потребовал от госсекретаря США Джона Керри уважать коренные интересы Китая, сообщает "Интерфакс" со ссылкой на МИД Китая.

"Современный мир сталкивается с различными глобальными вызовами, которые требуют совместного противодействия. Соединенные Штаты, заявляя о готовности сотрудничества с Китаем, одновременно должны с уважением относиться к коренным интересам и серьезным озабоченностям китайской стороны", - говорится в сообщении МИД о состоявшейся телефонной беседе Ван и с Дж.Керри.

"Ван И ознакомил Керри с твердой позицией Китая по вопросам продажи США оружия Тайваню и Южно-Китайского моря, потребовал прекратить поставки вооружений Тайваню и демонстрацию силы посредством направления военных кораблей и самолетов в район китайских островов Наньша", - подчеркнул МИД Китая.

Ранее сообщалось, что Вашингтон одобрил поставку Тайваню двух ракетных фрегатов и других вооружений на сумму $1,83 млрд. Кроме того, американские военные самолеты совершают облеты спорных островов в Южно-Китайском море.

Эти действия рассматриваются в Пекине как грубое нарушение суверенитета КНР, угрожающие ее безопасности.
