Գեղեցկությունը կարող է տարբեր կերպ դրսևորվել: Վերջին ժամանակներում շատերն են քաջություն դրսևորում՝ ցույց տալով աշխարհին իրենց իսկական դեմքը, այնպիսին, ինչպիսին կան, առանց պաշտպանիչ դիմահարդարման, առանց ուղղիչ, պաշտպանիչ հագուստի և նման այլ բաների: Նրանց նպատակն է ուրիշներին օրինակ ծառայաել և ոգեշնչել նրանց, որպեսզի ինքնավստահ լինեն, նույնիսկ թերությունների դեպքում:

Լեքսի Հարֆորդն այդպիսի քաջ մարդկանցից մեկն է: Նա որոշել է, որ այլևս չի ցանկանում թաքցնել իր դեմքի թերությունը՝ կոսմետիկայի հաստ շերտից դիմակի տակ, և ցույց է տվել իր բնական գեղեցկությունը: Թող նրա օրինակը ոգեշնչի ուրիշներին:

23-ամյա Լեքսին առաջին անգամ հասկացավ, որ իր արտաքինը տարբերվում է այլ երեխաների արտաքինից, 9 տարեկանում: Նա ծնվել էր՝ աջ այտին մեծ նշանով (խալով):

Մի քանի տարի շարունակ Լեքսին փորձում էր ծածկել, թաքցնել դեմքի նշանը տոնային դիմաքսուքների միջոցով: Քոլեջն ավարտելուց հետո, նա եկավ եզրակացության, որ պատրաստ է կարևոր քայլ անելու. Սկսել դուրս գալ փողոց առանց տոնային դիմաքսուքների: Նա առաջին անգամ ընդունեց իր բնական գեղեցկությունը:

Վերջերս աղջկան հրավիրել են նկարահանվելու մի հաղորդման մեջ, որտեղ հատուկ պահանջմունքներով և ոչ սովորական արտաքինով մարդկանց օգնում են սեր գտնել:

Լեքսին անմիջապես հրաժարվեց մասնակցել այդ հաղորդմանը: Իր մերժումը բացատրելու համար, նա համացանց տեղադրեց իր նկարներն՝ առանց դիմահարդարման: «Մեծ նշաններով, խալերով մարդիկ, ովքեր կարողանում են իրենց ընդունել այնպիսին, ինչպիսին կան, ոչ մի դեպքում չեն համաձայնի մասնակցել նման հաղորդմանը: Ես ցանկանում եմ, որ իմ օրինակը նրանց ոգեշնչի», – ասել է Լեքսին:
