ՀՀ բնապահպանության նախարար Արամայիս Գրիգորյանի և Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության էներգետիկայի նախարար Համիդ Չիթչիանի գլխավորած պատվիրակության դեկտեմբերի 24-ին կայացած հանդիպման ընթացքում կողմերն անդրադարձել են Արաքս գետի աղտոտվածության խնդրին, որի կապակցությամբ օրեր առաջ հայ-իրանական համատեղ դիտորդական խումբը տեղում դիտարկել էր Ագարակի պղինձ-մոլիբդենային կոմբինատում գործող ջրի շրջանառու համակարգը, ծանոթացել այդ ուղղությամբ կոմբինատում իրականացված և առաջիկայում տարվելիք աշխատանքներին, որոնք նվազագույնի կհասցնեն բացասական ազդեցությունը գետի վրա:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին  ՀՀ բնապահպանության նախարարության տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից, նախարար Արամայիս Գրիգորյանը, շնորհակալություն հայտնելով այցի համար և կարևորելով  բնապահպանական խնդիրների նկատմամբ իրանական կողմի ցուցաբերած ուշադրությունը, հավաստիացրել է, որ խնդիրը վերջնական լուծում կստանա մինչև  2016թ. ավարտը. «Կոմբինատի առջև դրվել են հստակ պահանջներ, որոնց կատարումը վերջինս խոստացել է ավարտին հասցնել մինչև 2016 թ . ավարտը, սակայն պետք է նշեմ, որ Արաքս գետը Հայաստան է մտնում Նախիջևանից արդեն իսկ աղտոտվածության որոշակի աստիճանով, ինչը ևս պետք է պարզել և անհրաժեշտ քայլեր ձեռնարկել այդ ուղղությամբ ևս»:

Կողմերը կարևորել են Արաքս գետի ջրի որակի համատեղ մշտադիտարկման հարցերը, քննարկել երկկողմ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող բնապահպանական մի շարք հարցեր:

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ընդունելության համար՝ նախարար Համիդ Չիթչիանը բարձր է գնահատել հայ-իրանական համագործակցությունը և ողջունել բնապահպանության ոլորտում սերտորեն փոխգործակցելու երկու երկրների պատրաստակամությունը:
