11-ամյա Կայլի Օլսոնը ԱՄՆ-ից իրեն նորաձև աղջիկ էր համարում: Նա միշտ հետևում էր նորաձևությանը և գեղեցիկ էր հագնվում: Երբ աղջիկը դեռ շատ փոքր էր, նրա մայրը մահացել էր: Կայլիի հայրը երես էր տվել իր սիրելի աղջկան:

Բացի դա հայրիկը լավ գումար էր վաստակում, և աղջիկը միշտ նորաձև և գեղեցիկ զգեստներ էր հագնում:

Բանականաբար, փոքրիկը հիացմունք էր առաջացնում իր հասակակիցների մոտ, իսկ դա նրան դարձնում էր ոչ պաշտոնական առաջնորդ դասարանում:

Իրեն իսկական թագուհի զգալով՝ Կայլին հաճախ ճնշում էր իր համադասարանցիներին, հատկապես մի աղջկա, ում ծնողներն աղքատ էին, և չէին կարող իրենց աղջկա համար նորաձև իրեր գնել:

Շուտով այդ մասին իմացավ Կայլիի ուսուցչուհին և պատմեց կատարվածի մասին աղջկա հորն ու նրա նոր կնոջը: Ծնողներին վիրավորեց աղջկա պահվածքը, և նրանք որոշեցին դաս տալ աղջկան:

Հանգստյան օրերին Կայլիի խորթ մայրը նարն խանութներ տարավ: Ճանապարհին նրանք «second-hand» խանութ նկատեցին, և կինը առաջարկեց իր խորթ աղջկան մտնել այդ խանութ:

Աղջիկը դա որպես խաղ ընդունեց և համաձայնեց: Նա ընտրեց ամենավատ հագուստները: Բայց ի զարմանս Կայլիի՝ պարզվեց, որ դա խաղ չէ, նրա խորթ մայրիկը գնեց Կայլիի ընտրած հագուստները: Եվ երկուշաբթի օրը ծնողները ստիպեցին աղջկան գնալ դպրոց այդ ահավոր հագուստով:

Կայլիի համար դա շոկ էր: Դասարանի թագուհուց նա մի վայրկյանում վերածվեց ծաղրանքի առարկայի: Բայց հայտնվելով իր համադասարանցու նույն իրավիճակում՝ նա հասկացավ, թե ինչ ցավալի է հանդուրժել այդ վիրավորանքները:

Իր սխալը հասկանալով՝ Կայլին ներեղություն խնդրեց իր համադասարանցի աղջկանից, ում այդքան վիրավորել էր: Աղջիկները հաշտվեցին: Այդ օրվանից նրանք իսկական ընկերուհիներ դարձան:

Այս պատմությունը հասանելի դարձավ հանրությանը: Մի հեռուստաալիքով հաղորդում ցույց տվեցին այս պատմության մասին: Այժմ ողջ Ամերիկան քննարկում է խորթ մոր արարքը:
