Դեկտեմբերի կեսից սկսած Եգիպտոսի մայրաքաղաք Կահիրեի քրիստոնյա բնակչությունը սկսում է նախապատրաստվել Ամանորին ու Սուրբ ծննդին՝ քաղաքի փողոցները սկսում են զարդարվել, խանութներում ամանորյա զեղչեր են սկսվում, փողոցներում տոնածառեր ու Ձմեռ պապիկներ հայտնվում։

Ահմեդ Սաիդը թեեւ մահմեդական է, բայց շատ է սիրում քրիստոնեական այս մշակույթը։ NEWS.am-ի հետ զրույցում Ահմեդը պատմեց, որ Կահիրեում շատ կան մահմեդականներ, որոնք նույնպես սիրում են այն եւ տոնում քրիստոնյա բնակչության հետ։ Նրա խոսքով, Նոր տարին տոն է, որը անկախ կրոնից, իր հետ ուրախություն ու լույս է  բերում եւ շատ անգամ քրիստոնյաների հետ մահմեդականներն էլ են մասնակցում Կահիրեն տոնական զարդարելու աշխատանքներին։

 «Իհարկե արգելվում է, որ մենք տոնածառ դնենք, կամ էլ զարդարենք մեր տները, դա դեմ է մեր կրոնին եւ սովորույթներին, սակայն մենք հարգում ենք քրիստոնյաների տոներն ու սովորույթները։ Դեկտեմբերի կեսից սկսած Կահիրեի փողոցներում, սուպերմարկետներում, մոլերում տոնածառեր ու գեղեցիկ լույսերով զարդարանքներ են հայտնվում, որը շատ դրական էներգիա է տալիս քաղաքին»,-ասաց Ահմեդը։

Փոքր տարիքում Ահմեդը քրիստոնյա ընկերների հետ ծնողներից թաքուն մի քանի անգամ նամակ է գրել Ձմեռ պապին՝ նվեր ստանալու ակնկալիքով, չնայած այդպես էլ ոչ մի նվեր չի ստացել։ Հետո երբ մեծացել, հասկացել է, թե ինչու Ձմեռ պապն իր խնդրանքը չի կատարել։

«Մեծացա ու հասկացա, որ Ձմեռ պապ չկա եւ երեխաների համար ծնողներն են նվերներ պատրաստում։ Մինչեւ հիմա հիշում եմ, թե մեր հարեւան քրիստոնյա երեխաներն ինչ ոգեւորությամբ էին պատմում իրենց ստացած նվերների մասին»։

Փոքրիկ Ահմեդին այն ժամանակ մխիթարել են միայն կոնֆետները, որոնք քրիստոնյա երեխաները մեծահոգաբար կիսում էին իրենց մահմեդական ընկերոջ հետ։
