Երևանի Ազատության հրապարակից Ոստիկանությունը բերման է ենթարկել ութ անձի, որոնցից երկուսը՝ անչափահաս աղջիկներ:  2016 թ. հունվարի լույս 27-ի գիշերը, ժամը 1.15-ին, ոստիկանության Կենտրոնականի բաժին հեռախոսային ահազանգով դիմած քաղաքացի Թինա Ն.-ն հայտնել է, որ Ազատության հրապարակում, Թումանյանի արձանի մոտ տեղադրված վրանում, մի խումբ անձինք օգտագործում են ոգելից խմիչքներ և բարձրաձայն հայհոյում: 

ՀՀ ոստիկանությունը միջոցներ է ձեռնարկել ահազանգով ստացված տեղեկությունները ստուգելու նպատակով: Վարչական զննությամբ պարզվել է, որ «շուրջօրյա հավաքի» մասնակիցները հասարակական վայրում օգտագործում են ոգելից խմիչքներ: «Վարչական իրավախախտումների վերաբերյալ» ՀՀ օրենսգրքի 175 հոդվածի 1-ին մասով նախատեսված իրավախախտում կատարելու կասկածանքով վարչական կարգով ոստիկանության Կենտրոնականի բաժին են բերվել յոթ անձինք, որոնցից երկուսը՝ անչափահաս աղջիկներ: 
Հարուցվել է վարչական վարույթ: Իրավախախտմա ն վայրից վերցվել են 20 սմ երկարությամբ շեղբով ծալովի դանակ, օղու 3 և վիսկիի 1 կիսադատարկ շշեր: 
Պարզվել է նաև, որ բերվածներից մեկը նախկինում դատապարտված է եղել և ներկայումս գտնվում է քրեական հետապնդման մեջ՝ գողություններ կատարելու մեղադրանքով: 
Անչափահաս աղջիկներից մեկը կողոպուտ կատարելու կասկածանքով նույն օրը բերման էր ենթարկվել ոստիկանություն, կողոպուտի առարկա հեռախոսը առգրավվել էր: Հարուցված է քրեական գործ: Քրեական հետապնդման մարմնի կողմից ստորագրությամբ ազատ արձակվելուց հետո նա անմիջապես միացել էր հավաքի մասնակիցներին: 
Բոլոր բերվածներն այս պահի դրությամբ ազատ են արձակվել: Սակայն իրավիճակն արմատական փոփոխության կարիք ունի: Ակնհայտ է, որ «շուրջօրյա հավաքի» վայրը վերածվել էր մի տարածքի, որ իրեն էր ձգում նաև հակահասարակական հակումներով անձանց: 
Երևանի քաղաքապետի որոշումներով արգելված էր Ազատության հրապարակում կազմակերպվող հավաքների ընթացքում օգտագործել վրաններ: Ոստիկանությունը, սակայն, տևական ժամանակ դրսևորել էր հանդուրժողականություն՝ չխոչընդոտելով վրանատիպ ծածկոցի տեղադրմանը: Հանրային վայրում իրավա խախտումը նախականխելու նկատառումով ոստիկանությունն ապամոնտաժել է վրանատիպ ծածկոցը:
