Ես միշտ զարմանում եմ, թե այդ ինչ ուժ է, որ այստեղից գնում ու ջուր է առաջանում մարդու աչքերում: Այ քեզ բան: Ես երբեք չեմ ցանկացել դերասան դառնալ: Բայց տոտիկ-տոտիկ անելով իմ սուրբ ժամը եկավ, բերեց թատրոն, և ես չհասցրեցի մանկություն ունենալ: Թատրոնն աղոթելու տեղ է, թատրոնն Աստծո հետ խոսելու ձև է… Յուրաքանչյուր դերիս մեջ մխրճվում էի, ապրում, և ապրածս դեմքիս վրա ի ցույց դնում…

Ինձ հետ ապշելու բաներ են կատարվել, շուրջս լիքը չուզողներ եմ ունեցել: Մի անգամ, երբ «Եզովպոս»-ում խաղում էի Վաղարշյանի հետ, մարդիկ եմ տեսել, որ բեմի հետևից ասում էին' չի ստացվի, չի՛ ստացվի, չի՛ ստացվի: Էս իմ լեգենդն է, ոչ մեկի հետ դա չի եղել: Ես նույնիսկ կարող եմ եզրակացնել, թե ինչումն է բանը, որ իմ համբերությունը չի հատնում, որ իմ հումորը չի կորչում… Չի կորչում… Դա ինձ միշտ փրկել է… Ինձ ձեզնից միայն ծափեր են պետք, այնքան, մինչև ափերդ թմրի:

Գիտեմ, որ մարդիկ ինձ սիրում են: Բայց դա նրանից է, որ ես էլ իրենց եմ շատ սիրում, բոլորին' մեկ առ մեկ: Լիաթոք ծիծաղ եմ ցանկանում ձեզ, լուսավոր ժպիտ և մեծ նվիրվածություն' դեպի թատրոնը, կինոն, դեպի արվեստը: Հայրենիքի զգացողությունը պահեք ձեր մեջ, ինչպես սերն եք պահում ձեր սրտում, հոգով ու սրտով կապված մնացեք հող ու ջրին, հոգևոր հարստությանը, ծննդավայրին:

Միշտ մտածել եմ, որ մեռնեմ' դրոշակ կդառնամ, անկուսակցական դրոշակ, որը վարակված է բոլորի ու ամեն ինչի հանդեպ սիրով, որը օդի հետ շփվելիս մաշվում է, մանանա դառնում ու եթերից ցողում մարդկանց :
