Հերթական արյան անալիզի ժամանակ Պատրիցիայի մոտ լեյկոզ հայտնաբերեցին: Ըստ կնոջ խոսքերի, դա իր կյանքի ամենավատ օրն էր: Զույգը պատրաստվում էր լիարժեք և առողջ ընտանիք ունենալուն, սակայն մեկ վայրկյանում նրանց կյնաքը փլուզվեց: Բժիշկները խորհուրդ տվեցին Պատրիցիային ընդհատել հղիությունը, սակայն նա որոշեց ծննդաբերել…

Պատրիցիայի կյանքը մազից էր կախված: Բայց մի օր նա կարդաց, որ շատ հիվանդություններ բուժվում են պորտալարի արյան օգնությամբ: Եվ, ի զարմանս կնոջ, լեյկոզը նույնպես այդ հիվանդությունների շարքում էր: Նա խորհրդակցեց բժիշկների հետ և համաձայնեց դիմել այդ բավականին վտանգավոր բուժմանը:

Հղիության 31-րդ շաբաթում Պատրիցիան աղջիկ ունեցավ: Չնայած անբավարար քաշին՝ աղջիկը ապրեց, բայց այդ պահին նրա մայրիկը շատ մոտ էր մահվանը: Հաջորդ 20 օրերի ընթացքում բժիշկները բուժում էին կնոջը, և այնուամենայնիվ, նրանք կարողացան հասնել դրական արդյունքի…
