Ֆրանսիայի խորհրդարանը հավանություն Է տվել Լորան Ֆաբիուսին երկրի Սահմանադրական խորհրդի ղեկավար նշանակելուն: Ազգային ժողովի եւ Սենատի հատուկ հանձնաժողովները փետրվարի 18-ին քվեարկել են հաջակցություն Ֆրանսիայի ԱԳ նախկին նախարարի թեկնածության, որին ավելի վաղ առաջադրել Է նախագահ Ֆրանսուա Օլանդն ինքը:

Ֆրանսիայի խորհրդարանի պալատներից յուրաքանչյուրում Ֆաբիուսի թեկնածության շուրջ լսումները շարունակվել են մի քանի ժամ: Պատգամավորները եւ սենատորները հանգամանորեն վերլուծել են անվանի քաղաքական գործչի 40-ամյա կարիերան, ընդգծելով պետական կառույցներում աշխատանքի նրա հսկայական փորձը: Դեռ 1984 թվականին նա նշանակվել Է Ֆրանսիայի կառավարության ղեկավար՝ դրանով իսկ դառնալով ամենաերիտասարդ վարչապետը Հինգերորդ հանրապետության պատմության մեջ (այդ ժամանակ նա 37 տարեկան Էր):

Իսկ վերջին չորս տարում Ֆաբիուսը ղեկավարում Էր Ֆրանսիայի արտաքին քաղաքական գերատեսչությունը: Սահմանադրական խորհուրդը, որն առաջիկայում կգլխավորի 69-ամյա Լորան Ֆաբիուսը, կոչված Է անաչառ գնահատական տալ առաջադրվող օրինագծերին՝ Ֆրանսիայի Սահմանադրությանը դրանց համապատասխանության առումով: Բացասական գնահատականի դեպքում խորհուրդն իրավունք ունի վետո դնել այս կամ այն օրինագծի վրա, նույնիսկ չնայած կառավարության եւ Ելիսեյան պալատի դիրքորոշմանը, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
