Միացյալ Նահանգների վարչակազմը պատրաստ չԷ արդեն այս փուլում ձախողված հայտարարելու Սիրիայում մարտական գործողությունների դադարեցման փորձը: Դա, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է Արմենպրեսը, ընդգծել Է ԱՄՆ-ի պետքարտուղար Ջոն Քերին՝ ելույթ ունենալով Գերմանիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Վալտեր Շտայնմայերի հետ հրավիրած մամուլի ասու լիսում, որն այցով գտնվում Է Վաշինգտոնում: 

ԱՄՆ-ի արտաքին քաղաքական գերատեսչության ղեկավարին խնդրել են մեկնաբանել Սիրիայում զինադադարի ամրապնդման շանսերը՝ Էր Ռիադում կազմավորված Բանակցությունների գծով բարձրագույն կոմիտեի ներկայացուցիչ Ասադ ազ Զոուբիի արած հայտարարության կապակցությամբ: Սիրիական ընդդիմության այս ներկայացուցիչը պնդել Է, թե հրադադարի ռեժիմը, դեռ չսկսված, ձախողման եզրին Է գտնվում Դամասկոսի իշխանությունների մեղքով:        

Ինչպես հայտարարել Է Քերին, «մենք ընթացիկ փուլում չունենք այնպիսի վկայություններ, որոնք (հարկադրեին) մեզ® հանգելու այն եզրակացության, թե այդ հիմնախնդիրն անկարելի Է լուծել կամ թե մենք չենք կարող բարելավել գործընթացը»: Առայժմ «(կողմերի)  ճնշող մեծամասնությունը բռնության մասշտաբների կրճատում Է տեսնում» Սիրիայում, ասել Է Քերին:

Իր կողմից Շտայնմայերը նույնպես հավաստել Է, որ Սիրիայում «վերջին օրերին շոշափելի առաջընթաց Է ձեռք բերվել», հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
