Թուրքիան չի հրաժարվել տարածաշրջանային գերտերություն դառնալու իր մտադրությունից, ուստի այդ պետությունը բացասական վերաբերմունք ունի Սիրիայում հրադադարի հաստատման նկատմամբ: Մարտի 2-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը նման կարծիք հայտնեց թուրքագետ Հակոբ Չաքրյանը: «Դեռ այն ժամանակ, երբ Սիրիայում հակամարտությունը նոր էր սկսվել, Թուրքիան ցանկանում էր զորք մտցնել Սիրիա և այդ մտադրությունը չէր էլ թաքցնում: Թուրքիայի նպատակը միշտ եղել է Սիրիայում Բաշար Ասադի իշխանությունը տապալելը և այնտեղ նոր իշխանություն ձևավորելը, որը կլինի Թուրքիայի ազդեցության տակ»,- Արմենպրեսի հաղորդմամբ՝ նշեց Չաքրյանը:

Թուրքագետի խոսքով՝ Թուրքիան դեռ չի հրաժարվել Սիրիայում Ասադի իշխանությունը տապալելու մտադրությունից: «Եթե Ասադի իշխանության տապալումը տեղի ունենա հենց Թուրքիայի նախաձեռնությամբ, ապա հենց Թուրքիայի նախաձեռնությամբ էլ այդ երկրում կձևավովի նոր իշխանություն: Սրանով Թուրքիան կմեծացնի ազդեցությունը Սիրիայում և կիրականացնի տարածաշրջանային գերտերություն դառնալու իր վաղեմի երազանքը: Սակայն այդ երազանքը իրականություն չի դառնա, քանի որ Սիրիայի տարածքում Ռուսաստանի ավիահարվածները խառնել են Թուրքիայի բոլոր պլանները»,- ընդգծեց թուրքագետը:

Հակոբ Չաքրյանը հավելեց, որ Թուրքիան ներկայում էլ Սիրիա զորք մտցնելու մտադրություն ունի, սակայն չի համարձակվում նման քայլին միայնակ գնալ՝ առաջին հերթին վախենալով Ռուսաստանի հակազդեցությունից: «Նրանք փորձում են ԱՄՆ-ին ու ՆԱՏՕ-ին ներքաշել այս պատերազմի մեջ, սակայն ԱՄՆ նախագահ  Բարաք Օբաման արդեն հասկացրել է, որ տարածաշրջանում պատերազմ չի ցանկանում, իսկ ՆԱՏՕ-ն ընդհանրապես չի ցանկանում այդ ամենի մեջ խառնվել»,- նշեց նա:

Չաքրյանը նաև նկատեց, որ Թուրքիան սերտ կապերի մեջ է «Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական խմբավորման հետ: Նրա խոսքով՝ Թուրքիան տարիներ շարունակ Սաուդյան Արաբիայի և Կատարի հետ վարժեցրել, զինել ու Սիրիա է ուղարկել «Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական խմբավորման գրոհայիններին:
