ԱՄՆ Թաֆթս համալսարանում ապրիլի 6-ին Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ոգեկոչող միջոցառում տեղի կունենա:

Միջոցառման ծրագրում ներառված է Հայկական հետազոտությունների և ուսումնասիրությունների ազգային ընկերակցության (NAASR) գիտական հարցերով տնօրեն Մարկ Մամիկոնյանի դասախոսությունը՝ «Գիտական հանրությունը և Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը. առկա իրավիճակն ու ժխտողականությունը» խորագրով:

Դասախոսության ընթացքում կներկայացվեն Հայոց ցեղասպանության գիտական հետազոտությունների ներկա զարգացումները և Ցեղասպանության ժխտման համառոտ պատմությունը՝ հատկապես ուշադրություն դարձնելով ամերիկյան ակադեմիական շրջանակներում ժխտողականության դրսևորւմներին:

Ըստ կազմակերպիչների՝ վերջին երկու տասնամյակում թե քանակապես, թե որակապես կտրուկ ավելացել են Հայոց ցեղասպանության վերաբերյալ գիտական հետազոտությունները: Միևնույն ժամանակ, նկատելիորեն վերափոխվել են գիտական դաշտում Ցեղասպանության ժխտողականության ավանդական մարտավարությունները: Ժխտողականության ներկայացուցիչները, դուրս գալով տեղի ունեցածն ուղղակիորեն ժխտելու կամ այն որպես ցեղասպանություն չհամարելու դիրքորոշման շրջանակներից, այժմ այլ մարտավարություն են որդեգրել:

Նրանք այժմ փորձում են, 1950-ականների ծխախոտային ընկերությունների լոբբիստների կամ, այսպես կոչված, գլոբալ տաքացման սկեպտիկների նմանությամբ, իբր ցեղասպանության հիմնախնդրի ոչ միանշանակության և դրա շուրջ դեռևս շարունակվող գիտական բանավեճի տպավորություն ստեղծել: Նման հակազդեցությունը ժամանակի ընթացքում մասամբ արդարացված ու ակադեմիական շրջանակներում որոշակի հաստատուն դիրքորոշում ստեղծելու ազդեցիկ մեթոդ է ժխտողականների համար:
