Սիրիայում հակամարտության հինգ տարում 88 լրագրող Է սպանվել:

Այս տվյալները հրապարակել Է Press Emblem Campaign (PEC) ոչ կառավարական կազմակերպությունը, որը հորդորում Է համաշխարհային հանրակցությանը՝ գործուն միջոցներ ձեռնարկել հակամարտությունների գոտիներում մամուլ ի աշխատողների անվտանգությունն ապահովելու համար:

PEC-ը փաստագրել Է Սիրիայում հինգ տարում 88 լրագրողների սպանությունը: Ընդ որում՝ նրանցից 13-ն սպանվել են անցյալ տարի,-հայտարարել Է կազմակերպության ներկայացուցիչը՝ Ժնեւում ելույթ ունենալով ՄԱԿ-ի Մարդու իրավունքների խորհրդի (ՄԻԽ) 31-րդ նստաշրջանում:-Այս տարվա հունվարի սկզբից ի վեր սպանվել են եւս երկու լրագրողներ, մի քանիսն Էլ վիրավորվել են»:

Ինչպես նշում Է PEC-ը, Սիրիան չորրորդ տարին անընդմեջ «մտնում Է ԶԼՄ-ների աշխատակիցների համար ամենավտանգավոր երկրների շարքը»: Այնտեղ թղթակիցներին «հրապարակավ գլխատում Էին, նրանց վրա ուղղորդված հրետանային կրակ Էին բացում»: Սիրիայում լրագրողները զոհվում Էին՝ ընկնելով խաչաձեւ կրակի տակ, «կալանումների ու կտտանքների Էին ենթարկվում հակամարտության բոլոր մասնակիցների կողմից»:

Այլ երկրների թվում, որտեղ զոհերի շրջանում լրագրողների թիվը նույնպես «շատ մեծ Է», PEC-ը նշում Է Աֆղանստանը, Իրաքը, Պակիստանը եւ Եմենը:

PEC-ը, որն ստեղծվել Է 2004 թվականին, օժտված Է ՄԱԿ-ին առընթեր կոնսուլտատիվ կարգավիճակով: Պարբերաբար Ժնեւում զեկույցներ հրապարակելով լրագրողների շրջանում զոհերի թվի վերաբերյալ, այն ձգտում Է հանրային կարծիքն ուղղորդել հակամարտության գոտիներում մամուլի աշխատողների անվտանգության ապահովմանն ուղղված ավելի վճռական քայլերի:

Վիճակագրության մեջ, որը վարում Է կազմակերպությունը, արտացոլված են իրենց պրոֆեսիոնալ պարտականությունները կատարելիս լրագրողների սպանությունների բոլոր դեպքերը: Զոհերի թվում են՝ թղթակիցներ, օպերատորներ, հնչյունավոր օպերատորներ, տեխնիկներ, լուսանկարիչներ, պրոդյուսերներ, ԶԼՄ-ների վարչական աշխատողներ: Զոհերի վերաբերյալ տեղեկատվության աղբյուր են ծառայում մամուլի, լրագրողական միությունների, ՄԱԿ-ի եւ ոչ կառավարական կազմակերպությունների հաղորդումները: Զոհվածների ցուցակը նորացվում Է ամեն ամիս՝ ՄԻԽ-ի 2006 թվականի առաջին նստաշրջանից ի վեր, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
