Գյումրի քաղաքի զարգացման համար Վերակառուցման և զարգացման եվրոպական բանկից 23.5 միլիոն եվրո վարկ ստանալու ծրագիրը շատ կարևոր ու օգտակար է  քաղաքի համար: Ազգային ժողովում կառավարության հետ հարցուպատասխանի ժամանակ այս մասին ասաց ՀՀ տարածքային կառավարման և զարգացման նախարար Դավիթ Լոքյանը՝ պատասխանելով ՀԱԿ խմբակցության ղեկավար Լևոն Զուրաբյանի հարցին:  

«Վարկային համաձայնագիրը ներկայումս քննարկման փուլում է եւ մինչեւ ապրիլի 15-ը պայմանագիրը կդրվի ընթացքի մեջ: Դրանից հետո ՎԶԵԲ-ում հարցը կքննարկվի, եւ եթե ՀՀ-ն բավարարի բոլոր պայմաններին, ապա վարկային փաթեթը հասանելի կդառնա նոյեմբերին»,- նշեց նախարարը:

Նախարարը հավելեց, որ  փաթեթի 33.5 տոկոսը դրամաշնորհ է, մնացածը՝ վարկ՝ բավականին դրական պայմաններով: «Ոչ հաճախ է լինում այնպես, որ նման վարկ կարողանանք ստանալ համայնքների զարգացման ծրագրերի համար: Ֆինանսական տեսանկյունից եւս վարկի ներգրավումը դրական է, իսկ վարկի ներգրավման դեպքում Գյումրիի իշխանությունները հնարավորություն կունենան Հայաստանի երկրորդ մայրաքաղաքը ուղղակի բարեկարգ քաղաքից վերածել տուրիստական կենտրոնի՝ կապելով Հայաստանի հյուսիսը մյուս տուրիստական կենտրոնների հետ»,- եզրափակեց Լոքյանը:
