Սիրիան չափազանց փոքր է դաշնային պետություն դառնալու համար: Դամասկոսում ֆրանսիացի պատգամավորների հետ հանդիպմանն այս մասին հայտարարել է Սիրիայի նախագահ Բաշար Ասադը:

«Ասադն ընդգծեց, որ Սիրիան չափազանց փոքր երկիր է՝ դաշնային դառնալու համար: Բացի այդ, երկրի բոլոր համայնքները սերտորեն միահյուսված են»,- լրագրողներին ասել է հանդիպմանը մասնակցած ֆրանսիացի Նիկոլա Դյուիկը: Ըստ նրա, Ասադը կարծում է, որ սիրիացի քրդերի ինքնավարությունն այնքան էլ լավ գաղափար չէ, հատկապես հաշվի առնելով Սիրիայի հյուսիսում բնակվող արաբներին: «Նրա խոսքով՝ Սիրիայի քրդաբնակ շրջաններում նրանք կազմում են բնակչության միայն 30%-ը, իսկ դա նշանակում է, որ նրանք սեփական տարածքում փոքրամասնություն կդառնան»,- նշել է ֆրանսիացի պատգամավորը:

Ըստ Sputnik-ի, ամեն դեպքում, Ասադը մտածում է պետության նոր կառուցվածքի մասին՝ ապակենտրոնացման տարրերով: Սիրիայի որոշ տարածքներ կարող են ավելի շատ ազատություններ եւ իրավասություններ ստանալ, բայց կենտրոնական վարչակազմի մշտական իշխանությունը կպահպանվի:

Ասադը, միաժամանակ, համաձայն չէ այն առաջարկություններին, որ Սիրիայում նախագահները պետք է միայն մահմեդականներ լինեն: «Դա անընդունելի է: Սիրիայի բոլոր քաղաքացիները պետք է իրավունքներ ունենան»,- Ասադի խոսքերն է մեջբերել Դյուիկը:

Սիրիայի առաջնորդը հույս է հայտնել, որ հակամարտող կողմերը կկարողանան համաձայնության հասնել ամռանը՝ մինչեւ ԱՄՆ նախագահական ընտրությունները:

Դամասկոսի եւ ընդդիմության միջեւ բանակցությունների հերթական փուլը Ժնեւում ավարտվել է մարտի 24-ին: Դրանք կվերսկսվեն ապրիլի 10-ին:
