Ինչպես տեղեկացրել էինք՝ ոստիկանության Մալաթիայի բաժնի կողմից որպես անհայտ կորած որոնվում էր 1982 թ. ծնված Կարեն Վարդանյանը, ով մարտի 17­ին Արաբական Միացյալ Էմիրություններ մեկշաբաթյա գործուղում մեկնելու նպատակով դուրս էր եկել տնից և չէր վերադարձել: Մարտի 30­ին ՀՀ քր. օր.­ի 104 հոդվածի (Սպանություն) հատկանիշներով հարուցվել էր քրեական գործ:

Ոստիկանության քրեական հետախուզության, կազմակերպված հանցավորության դեմ պայքարի գլխավոր, Երևան քաղաքի վարչությունների, ՊՊԾ գնդի և ոստիկանության Մալաթիայի բաժնի ծառայողների համատեղ ձեռնարկած օպերատիվ­հետախուզական լայնածավալ միջոցառումների արդյունքում՝ մարտի 31­ին, ժամը 23.40­ին, Երևանի Տիգրան Մեծի և Երվանդ Քոչարի փողոցների խաչմերուկից, սպանություն կատարելու կասկածանքով, ոստիկանության Երևան քաղաքի վարչություն բերման են ենթարկվել 1993 թ. ծնված Գևորգ Զոհրաբյանը, 1981 թ. ծնված Ա. Զ.­ն, 1979 թ. ծնված Հ. Վ.­ն, 1960 թ. ծնված Ա. Դ.­ն, իսկ ժամը 23.55­ին Կոտայքի մարզի Մրգաշեն գյուղից բերման է ենթարկվել 1973 թ. ծնված Արթուր Միհրանյանը:

Պարզվել է, որ մարտի 17­ին բութ գործիքներով Կարեն Վարդանյանին բազմաթիվ հարվածներ են հասցրել և սպանել Արթուր Միհրանյանը և Գևորգ Զոհրաբյանը, որից հետո Կարեն Վարդանյանի դին թաքցրել են Գևորգ Զոհրաբյանին պատկանող Երևանի Սիսակյան փողոցի 22 շենքի հարակից ավտոտնակում: Արթուր Միհրանյանը և Գևորգ Զոհրաբյանը ձերբակալված են:
