What It's Like to Be A Twentysomething Who Can't Eat Food
LifestyleIn this week's Cosmo Happy Hour episode, host Elisa Benson talks to Cosmopolitan.com associate editor Tess Koman about her article "Here's What I Learned From Not Eating Food for a Month." When she was seven, Tess was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease, an inflammatory disease that affects your digestive tract from your mouth to your rectum. Now, at 24, Tess has undergone 10 serious surgeries and most recently has been put on an all-liquid diet.
Like most twentysomethings, Tess loves everything about food — from taking the perfect Instagram, getting lunch with coworkers, or going to dinner with her friends. Regardless of how much she wants to eat Oreos and drink wine, though, her body doesn't. "[My body's] full on rejecting food right now ... it hates it," she said.
