Putin: Russia's task in Syria was strengthening its statehood

The aim of Russia in Syria was to strengthen the country's statehood, President Vladimir Putin said during the third regional and local mass media forum in St. Petersburg.
According to him, in order to solve a problem of migrants, first of all it was necessary to restore statehood of Syria so that people could stay there, Gazeta reported.
Putin said that in this sense their armed forces had completely fulfilled this task.
He also mentioned that both the power structure and the Syrian army had been restored.
The president noted that Syria continued active offensive operations, and it was with their support also.
