Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունն անելու է ամեն ինչ, որպեսզի բանակցությունների միջոցով հասնի Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի միջազգային ճանաչմանը: 

ՀՀԿ Գործադիր մարմնի նիստից հետո լրագրողների հետ զրույցում հայտարարեց ՀՀԿ խոսնակ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը: «Մենք վերահաստատել ենք, որ Հայաստանը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի ա նվտանգության երաշխավորն է ու անելու է ամեն ինչ՝ ապահովելու Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի ժողովրդի անվտանգությունը: Խնդիրը պետք է ունենա բացառապես խաղաղ կարգավորում Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահության ձևաչափում` Մադրիդյան երեք սկզբունքների հիման վրա: Եվ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի ժողովուրդն ինքը պետք է լինի իր ճակատագրի դարբինը, իսկ ԼՂ-ն չի կարող ունենալ ավելի ցածր կարգավիճակ, քան փաստացի ունի այսօր»,-ասաց Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը:

Հարցին ի պատասխան, թե այսօր զինադադարի հաստատումն ավելի շատ որ կողմի համար է շահեկան` ՀՀԿ խոսնակը նշեց, որ այն շահեկան է բոլորի համար, քանի որ մերժելի է խնդրի ռազմական լուծումը:

«Ինչպես իրավացիորեն նշել են Հայաստանի Հանրապետության և Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հանրապետության նախագահները, Ղարաբաղի ժողովրդի պայքարը ուրիշների տարածքը գրավելու մեջ չէ, այլ իր սեփական ճակատագիրը որոշելու մեջ է. ապրել անկախ ու ժողովրդավար երկրում»,-ասաց Շարմազանովը` հավելելով. «Ռազմական էսկալացիան անցանկալի հետևանքների կարող է բերել: Պատերազմը վատագույն լուծումն է: Մենք պատերազմ չենք ուզում, մենք պաշտպանում ենք մեր քույրերին ու եղբայրներին, որպեսզի նրաք կարողանան ապրել անվտանգ երկրում»:

Անդրադառնալով ԼՂ-ում խաղաղապահ ուժերի տեղակայման հնարավորությանը` Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը նկատեց, որ հանրապետության նախագահը նշել է, որ հայկական կողմը դեմ չի լինի այդ որոշմանը, եթե համապարփակ լուծում առաջարկվի, իսկ ուժերի տեղակայումն էլ լինի գործոններից մեկը: ՀՀԿ ներկայացուցչի դիտարմամբ` պետք է հասկանալ ու լուծել խնդրի պատճառները, ոչ թե հետևանքները, ինչպես Ադրբեջանն է անընդհատ պնդում: «Ադրբեջանն անընդհատ խոսում է հետևանքների վերացման մասին, մինչդեռ խնդրի պատճառն այն է, որ Արցախի ժողովուրդն ինքնորոշման իրավունքից օգտվելով ցանկանում է իրականացնել ռեֆերենդում, որի արդյունքում կորոշի ապրել անկախ: Ինչու Շոտլանդիայում ունեն ռեֆերենդումի իրավունք, Արցախում` ոչ: Խոսքը կարգավիճակին է վերաբերում»,- հավելեց նա:
