Քյարամի նկարը կախված է պատուհանին ամրացված եռագույնից: Սենյակում մութ է, անկյունում` փոքրիկի սեղանի վրա, դրված է Քյարամի լուսանկարը, բանակում ստացված շնորհակալագիրը և հետմահու տրված մեդալը: Կողքին կուչ է եկել մայրը` Նվարդը, հազիվ հիսունը բոլորած մի կին, որը վշտի հարվածից ամբողջովին կորցրել է իրականության զգացումը և դատարկված աչքերով անթարթ նայում է Քյարամի նկարին:
 
Քյարամ Սլոյանը` 19 տարեկան
Քյարամ Սլոյանն ապրիլյան պատերազմի առաջին զոհերից էր, ով հնարավորություն ուներ փրկվելու, սակայն ազնվությունը, պարտքի զգացումը և մարդկայնությունը նրան թույլ չտվեցին թողնել հրամանատարին և հեռանալ դիրքից: Մինչդեռ հենց հրամանատարն էր ստիպել: Չէր արել ու զոհվել էր: Զոհվելուց հետո թշնամին անարգել էր նրա մարմինը` լուսանկարներով ողողելով համացանցը և դաժանության ու պատերազմի սարսափի վկայություն դարձնելով 20-ամյա տղայի մահը:
Մութ սենյակում մայրն է նստած, կողքին` գյուղի կանայք ու հարազատները: Հայրը կանգնած է աթոռի հետևը: Բարձրահասակ, նիհար, պարզ ու շիտակ մարդ է: Գութը խուժել է նրանց տուն ու անտանելի դարձրել առանց այն էլ դժվարին կյանքը:
- Երկու ամսից զորացրվելու էր, երկու ամսից,- տնքում է մայրը,- գիտես, ծնունդը ապրիլի 27-ին է, բայց մարտի 28-ին զորամասում նշեց, մի բան զգում էր:
- Հպարտ ենք, հպարտ մեր տղայով,- ասում է հայրը, բայց զգում ես, որ ցանկացած հպարտություն գրողի ծոցը կուղարկեր միայն թե որդին կողքին լիներ:
-Հերոս է,-ասում է սենյակում նստած ծեր կանանցից մեկը:
Քյարամի ընտանիքի տունը
Քյարամ Սլոյանի ընտանիքն Արագածոտնի մարզի Արտաշավան գյուղում է ապրում: Ասել, որ ապրում են ծայրահեղ աղքատ, նշանակում է ոչինչ չասել: Անավարտ մնացած կիսակառույց տունը գյուղից մի փոքր հեռու է` սարի լանջին: Դուռը մշտապես բաց է, սենյակներում անասելի խոնավ է, որովհետև հատակ չկա, հատուկենտ կահույքը հենց հողի վրա է:
Նրանց հյուրասենյակը
Ապրելը ծանր է այս ընտանիքի համար, օգնություն էլ չունեն: Օգնությունն ու տան սյուներից մեկը պետք է Քյարամը լիներ, սակայն նա չափից դուրս ազնիվ էր, քաջ, խիզախ ու հավատարիմ այս աշխարհի համար:
