Ներկայացված լուսանկարներում կարելի է տեսնել կեսարյան հատման միջոցով տեղի ունեցող ծննդաբերությունը: Դրա առանձնահատկությունն այն է, որ մայրիկը ոչ միայն գիտակից վիճակում է, այլեւ ակտիվորեն օգնում է բժիշկներին: 

Կեսարյան հատումը կնոջը հնարավորություն է տալիս մայր դառնալ ոչ մի ցավ չզգալով եւ նույնիսկ գիտակից վիճակում չլինելով, որովհետեւ վիրահատությունը հաճախ կատարվում է ընդհանուր անզգայացմամբ: Գոյություն ունի շտապ կեսարյան հատում, որին դիմում են բժշկական անհրաժեշտության դեպքում` տարբեր տեսակի բարդությունների եւ մոր, ինչպես նաեւ երեխայի առողջության համար անհանգստությունների պատճառով: Բայց պլանավորված կեսարյան հատման դեպքում կանայք հատուկ այդ պրոցեդուրան են ընտրում ծննդաբերության ընթացքում ցավ չզգալու համար:  

Ավստրալական Քվինսլենդի բնակչուհի Սարա Սոունսը կեսարյան հատում է տարել, սակայն երբեք չի մոռանա իր անձնական մասնակցությունը սեփական երեխայի ծննդին: Այս կինն իր ձեռքով ընդունել է դստերը, որը մի վայրկյան առաջ դուրս էր եկել նրա արգանդից, եւ անմիջապես կրծքին է սեղմել: Սառայի համար դա կյանքում առաջին ծննդաբերությունն էր: 

Կինը լրագրողներին պատմել է, որ ինքը չէր կարող բնական եղանակով ծննդաբերել, սակայն շատ էր ուզում զգալ մայրերի համար  թանկարժեք այդ պահը: Այդ պատճառով համաձայնել է համեմատաբար նոր պրոցեդուրայի` կեսարյան հատման, որի ընթացքում կինը գիտակից է մնում: 

«Չեմ կարծում, թե որեւէ մեկը կհրաժարվի սեփական մարմնից հանել երեխային,-պատմում է Սառան: Ես մի քիչ լարվեցի, եւ գլուխն արդեն հայտնվեց: Հետո ինձ օգնեց մանկաբարձը, որը խնամքով հանեց երեխային, իսկ դրանից հետո ես աղջկաս կրծքիս սեղմեցի: Դա իմ կյանքի ամենաաներեւակայելի եւ սքանչելի պահն էր»:

Ի տարբերություն ավանդական կեսարյան հատման, որի ընթացքում հատուկ վարագույրը մոր առաջ փակում է տեսարանը, նոր պրոցեդուրան ծննդաբերության ընթացքում կնոջ ամենաակտիվ մասնակցությունն է ենթադրում: Դրա պահանջարկը մեծանում է, սակայն բժիշկները նշում են, որ տվյալ վիրահատությունը բոլորովին էլ ոչ բոլոր կանանց է համապատասխանում:  Եթե երեխան չափազանց մեծ է կամ փոքր, եթե բժշկական խնդիրներ կան, նման պրոցեդուրա չի անցկացվի:
